Riot rubber bullets

Recommended Posts

the anger comes from you calling me an idiot.

now that we have that out of the way. I have over 500 hours in the game and my stable regular char has been alive since the end of January my stable HC char alive since the middle of February. I have been killed by other players exactly twice that I can confirm and twice that may have been a glitch kill. I don't get KOSed because I don't get seen by anyone capable of pulling it off, people that see me, of the 2 or 3 times that I am aware of, run. if I choose to interact, I might speak to them to let them know I mean them no harm. I never tell anyone to "stop, drop your gun", I do ask if they need anything, some do some don't. I play solo, my way, away from people like you so I rarely encounter other players, that's the way I like it.

the incident on the stairs was in zelenogorsk and he missed so I took my leave and was not pursued, not my problem that he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn - should I accuse you of lying about your "good" intentions? that just made you look like an ass by the way and certainly adds nothing to the conversation.

I die a lot on experimental but that is my choice and even there I stop for no one - I can't count the number of times I've dropped my gear and jumped just to start over after spending a day or two gearing up. she is my disposable character. the one that falls down stairs or over the rail at riffy.

I hit respawn as soon as my game is interrupted by death or unconsciousness - I don't give a fuck what you might have to say to my corpse and I am quite certain I will never have to find out ingame. you can keep your opinions ingame to yourself.

So anger, such sad

I never called you an idiot by the way, I said rubber bullets would be a good idea for players like you who decide to be unintelligent.

If you stay away from everyone in stable by going inland where there is almost no human interaction, then that's your choice, very boring one btw, but your choice non the less and from that I can see why your character is still alive, wouldn't be very hard to keep them that way....

Your situation in Zelenogorsk was luck, good for you, a 12 year old was trying to hold you up, if it were me, you would have been dead, but you took your chances and lived, so gj.  The reason I think rubber bullets is a good idea is so I wouldn't have to kill you for trying to run and I could have piece of mind separating you from your weapon whilst I loot the rest of the town or just that building we were heading towards.

My intentions are almost always good, unless I clearly see someone shooting bambis that are just trying to get some gear, then my intentions are to kill, which i DO enjoy.  You don't have to believe me, you can think it makes me look like an ass, not like your opinion changes facts...

After seeing your responses to just about everyone in this post, I think I am gonna call it here for responding to your arguments, I'm convinced you're just here to argue, which is fine, just not in a suggestions post.

I don't see why should I run around and yell people to stop and drop their weapons. I would use the non-lethal weapon/ammo if I ever ran into one and had to stop him from doing anything foolish. That would be the case. Chasing survivors and checking their backpacks is not my pair of beans.

Shotgun with rubber bullets shoots say 50m effectively to be able to actually knock you off. It hurts for a lot longer distance but yeah. If a bandit is 50m from say bambies then he will be exposed and easy target for others (which they rather wouldn't do if they could just kill bambie from say 300m).

I want this to be confirmed - are you or are you not able to move with hands cuffed?

I can tell you now that non-lethal ammo will encourage me to KOS. bandits that torture always approach their victims, how else can you torture them, usually after a non-fatal shooting or a typical hold-up, you know like yelling "stop, drop your gun!" or "on the ground now!" or "press F2 now!". if you want to know about handcuffs find someone to handcuff you or do a search on the forum. you might try searching out some youtube vids on the aforementioned subjects to see how these things play out.

If you are encouraged to KoS because of non-lethal weapons, you are already encouraged enough - this would be just an excuse. I am not judging you, I don't really mind if people do that. It is your choice of style then so be it. :)

You can shoot injure them and then approach? I mean, there are endless options how to do it, having such feature would not make it worse or better but it would give some people option to let other player live and get out alive.

Obviously, if your in the right position to escape, you're gonna do it, but you're a dead idiot if you try to escape in a situation that's easy to kill you from.  Like I would hope to god you wouldn't try anything while you're on some stair or in a hallway with some dude pointing a sawed off at you....

yeah ok whatever dude. I don't get bored when I play and I am sorry that you need so much from others to keep you entertained.

I don't KOS now but I like my gear, it took a long time and much stealth to acquire, I would rather shoot first then run the risk of robbery. at least with lethal ammo I can start fresh and far from the scene of the crime so I can have time to cool off a bit while gearing up - there is a reason some of us hate CoD. I would at the very least get over my anger at the violation more quickly after a respawn and brief costal vacation, otherwise I might start hunting the perpetrator and loose focus on the point of the game, you know, survival.

Well, as they say - to each their own and everyone's needs will never be satisfied. The non-lethal weapons and need for it can be debatable. I would say they are not necessarily needed but they would be nice add. Saying again that people who potentially abuse this feature, do the same with any other features so it doesn't make it any better or worse for them.

I like my gear as well and I am not afraid of losing it in some sort of awesome firefight. I am not sad either if I lose it to some killer who hunts me down and shoots dead for fun. There are all kind of psychos walking the earth, you know. And obvious is, I would as well use lethal force if I was engaged at. I think it is just something like "Oh, I ran into a survivor on the street. He did have weapon but didn't look like much threat at the first sight so I kocked him over to win myself time to get out of his way for both of our safety".

Only people I would actually kill, if I had a chance, would be bambiekillers and only when I saw one killing bambie, not because I think they may have killed bambie. Can't judge on the looks if anyone is bandit or not. I met two Russian guys at NWAF in the first hours of playing SA. They were nice. I was cornered in jail second floor with broken legs but had an advantage of better position and better close-combat firearm and they ended up putting away their weapons and trading my M4 for morphine and Mosin and some ammo for it. So, for me - no matter in how shitty situation you are in, you can still play the cards in your favor. Could have killed them both in first encounter but gave them chance to drop weapons and interact with me. And they did, which was nice. Restored some faith of mine in the player base.

Again, I start going off-topic, god damn it. But I have nice stories to tell :)

good stories either way ;) nice debate too, thanks. if rubber bullets do make it to the game I will just have to adjust my play style much the way I have had to adjust to the new zombie behavior - it's all good :)
