omg in rage new player!

so i started dayz few days ago... and i absolutely loved it until now

 

1st time i spend good 4+ hours with my friend looting random houses and just getting used to the game. We went to military camp and both got smoked...ok lesson was learned here dont get carried away with looting gear on populated server.

 

2nd time i spend good 3+ hours on my own looting random houses getting gear. I bumped into some random player so i panic and shoot him, he ended up killing me. Ok not a problem another lesson learned here don't panic and engage random people. 

 

 

3d and 4th time me and my friend went on friendly servers and kitted up to teeth on military bases so we can finally have a go at PvP , we spend good 4+ hours doing this

then  i decided to roll a hardcore character just incase if my softcore gets killed ill have something else to play with, so i spent another good 3  hours getting to military bases and gearing up

 

guess what.... ? i log on and both of them are gone ! due to some lag or something im not sure... it said something something couldn't find file your character has been reset 

 

so i wasted good 15+ hours on nothing... i was rly looking forward to some combat... even if i got killed i wouldn't care... i just wanted to experience that awesome adrenalin rush in this game.

 

now just even thinking about going through same process make me feel sick...

If you have noticed yhe warnings, its says its in alpha. That's the whole problem. Dont know if this is a bug or sometimes else but you can report it.

Did you log out at a safe location ?
Your character stays where he/she was, for 30 sec. AFTER logging out.
So , no logging out on high pop servers in military-zones.

You're due for your next complaint at 150 hours. 15 hours is nothing wasted... That's gaming. It's all waste if you look at it that way.

 

Come back when you have 10x the hours and let us know how you're doing.

If it says something like character couldn't be found loading default you are best to leave the server immediately because it is not connected to the hive. But if you stay there and it gets connected, your older character is overwritten..

Trust me man, the grass is always greener. Once you're all geared up and all that and you know how the game currently works, you'll want to go back to being a fresh spawn struggling for that first can of soda.

its just a video game, relax, take it with a grain of salt.

 

It is DayZ...this frustration is why the game is popular.

 

if only everyone was forced to live through the mod, we would have a nice mature player base...

 

banditry and kill on sight is normal and to be expected.

 

you have to adjust your playstyle based on the situation:

-- random encounter in a low loot area like a forest or something? Have fun with your player interaction.

-- looting the airfield? has its risks! almost always people will shoot you for your stuff.

Fix?  -- play better, be more sneaky, use the trees, etc.

Play each session as if it was your last. As you can see, you could get a wipe for no reason whatsoever. Don't go in and "prepare" to play. Go in and play.

ya basically dont get attached to gear.ya can loose it at any given moment for any reason which for me makes it  fun starting off as a new spawn sometimes breaks up the  ok im geared  now what delimma

The only way to beat this my friend is to favorite servers that do not have this issue. A bit of trial and error though. I feel your pain and have been there 12-15x in 500+ hours.

Make sure you stick to servers that are official (then linked to the hive) we had the same problem as you, solved by stopping going on dayz sa servers hosted by gaming delux. Our problem stopped once we started going on the Dayz GB servers 1- ** hosted by multiplay game servers for both regular and hardcore.
