Painting Ballistic Helmets

    Again, another thing I'm surprised I didn't find in search, but I will suggest it anyway.

 

  Me and my friends were talking about this a day or two ago. I think it would be cool if you could paint ballistic helmets, right? I always want to dress as full black, but it's useless because the helmet is green! No way I'm putting on a black beret and risking getting shot unconcious, either. Just thought suggesting this would be a good idea, cheers. I.E Here's a picture of a black Ballistic Helmet.

pretty sure you can paint them on experimental now

 

edit: yeah its listed on the changelog for experimental

i want a german ww2 helmet, they are so badass.

You mean a stahlhelm? In Chernarus?

Hmm...there could have been a east front battle I suppose...

we still need more spraycan colors though. black and green aren't enough!

 

i suggest yellow, orange, red, gray, pink, purple, blue, cyan, silver (specular map), gold (specular map), brown, beige

 

of course, these variants should be VERY hard to find (especially gold/silver). like having a red or gray helmet/weapon would definitely mean that player went through a lot to have them

I'm not sure we'll see much in the way of colour options for spray cans, at least not until well into Beta, due to the effort required to implement them. Each item that can be sprayed requires (I believe) four different texture files created for each colour. That's quite a lot of textures when you consider how much can be painted already.

     Ok, I really SHOULD have checked the changelog ^^. It was almost 2:00AM when I posted that, so I wasn't thinking about checking it too much, though. I guess I'll try it out when they implement it, that's awesome ^_^
