trading would be safer and easier safer because it might disappear if you drop it or just someone would steal it.
so what do you think about trading

   Trading would be cool, but it wouldn't be cool if they added a safe system where nobody can steal your stuff, it's DayZ. In a post apocalyptic state, people wouldn't really be trading fairly unless they were the nicest, or stupidest person alive.

Would love to see trading. Anywhere, at anytime. Anything less would feel hokey.

Trading areas? why? To me, it would be like adding a safe zone in DayZ, where you couldnt be killed. And just assuming that people dont want to trade, just because stealing is easier is naive. Theft is as much an option in real life as it is in a game, therefore, so should an honest, and fair trade.

i was just thinking like taking out of "dropping items" to "trading" but still you could drop items of course

No safety, I like trading the way it is now. If your scared of being cheated find a friend with a gun to back you up, but no safe-zones or trade windows.

campers waiting and watching the entrances/exits to said underground...

 

while i am not opposed to a trade system, in the end its all about trust (of which there is little in DayZ) so far i've had exactly one trade experience and it went pretty good - i was surrounded by heavily armed players (not with me, i play solo) and i managed to trade for a hacksaw with everything going on the ground, i left with my saw and they left with a bag of rice or some such. i think a seperate trade window will simply add more time to the transaction once stable is updated, instant drop is on the way ;)

I don't want to see any of those trading zones with god mode rubbish, if I'm gonna get robbed of my gear then so be it. what I would I would like to see is an option for trading with players where each player can drag items into an external window that both can see and then have some sort of agree trade option.

well if you dont understand what i meant like if i was going to give my friend food i drop it on ground and then some asshole takes it before my friend can take it. robbing is cool i just got robbed 1 day ago and that was fun  :D but i got one spaghetti can

But I agree it would be very helpful if I could enable an item that is in my hand for a friend to pick up, without me having to drop it to the ground

Dean has mentioned a trade system before, like how MMORPG's handle trading, both drop in items and accept. this would not prevent someone from killing you and taking the item anyway if they cancel out of the trade interaction. Aslong as the trade screen closes for both if one person cancels the trade I'm for it.

no way, you can already trade with players.  The system they use now is more realistic, someone can jip you, that's part of the risk, I don't think they should take away element like that in this game.  Items disappearing when they're dropped is temporary and probably from the LOD problem they're fixing right now.

you're incredibly naïve to think a couple of lookouts will keep the place safe - the only way to guarantee the safety of such a location is from within the game mechanics itself and somehow I don't think there are any plans for such - some modder might do this later on but its certainly not a feature I'd like the dev team to mess with, we have more pressing issues. 

 

edit: oh and you are still trusting the people that server as your lookouts to not turn bandit and rob everyone blind - temptation can be hard to resist at times

I like the system how it is, if they can somehow reduce the time for a dropped it to appear or fix the dropped items not appearing bug I think things would be better. We don't need safe zones for trades, as was stated before that's not part of Dayz. People are going to cheat you, just like in the real world but that doesn't go for everyone you meet. I've recently had 2 positive trades with some seemingly shady individuals but maybe I was lucky.

Ah, you silly, there's already trading in the game. No system has to be implemented, you only have trust to help you trade. Who knows if the guy wants something you have and after the trade you receive a bullet in your skull?
