Princess Dookie 35 Posted March 11, 2014 The position of the sun seems ... different. I have noticed, I could be wrong here, that the sun rises in the direct south - > shines towards north. Isn't this supposed to be slanted much more towards east? I have yet to see the sun rise on the east, and set in the west. Am I wrong or is the sun actually in the wrong location? LouisK 85 Posted March 11, 2014 I'm a bit worried more about the glance and the fact that it makes the game incredibly dark even when you're not looking at it at all or there are clouds covering it.
tarascon 50 Posted March 11, 2014 I was on a 24/7 Day server last night and the daylight effect kept switching between day sun and twilight/near dark. Oh well. This too shall pass.

The sun is an easy way of navigating. If it is incorrect, the only true way to navigate will be to use a compass, which should not be required. && That is just a lighting issue. I have seen my character go into specific rooms, and it would feel like dawn, rather than 3 pm. & As far as the clouds are concerned, well.. I suppose I have never really payed attention to that. enforcer1975 1111 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Because the earth is tilted slightly to the sun it appears to be south in winter and "normal" in summer. That's why we also have seasons in case some people don't get out of their cellar and are always asking themselves why half a year you have long days and it's usually hot and short days and it's cold. The engine should show it correctly right now because it's wintertime in Chernarus or else it's broken. Meaning the sun is southish. PlayedSun 7 Posted March 11, 2014 No matter which way I'm running in the game, I feel like I'm always running towards the sun. haha. Sun`s glare op. Too bad sunglasses don't remove some of that for you.

I will check the compass one more time again today, but the argument you make is only true if the position is southish, not directly south, which is what the game shows to me. enforcer1975 1111 Posted March 11, 2014 Date 01.01.2008 can't remember the time, facing south on NWAF.Date 01.07.2008, same time, second pic is the position of the sun at that time. The lookout is just slightly to my right shoulder.
