Why don't zombies bleed?

Recommended Posts

I dunno, a 7.62 round has a high probability of taking your arm off with one shot if it impacts your shoulder at the joint...

I'm not so sure about that. It will leave a huge, gaping hole, that's for sure. But take the arm off? It's not like you fire a scythe blade. I have a 7.62 bullet lying around somewhere here, that I found at the range. The way the bullet bloom after hitting something will tear a big exit hole, but the entry hole will still be small. I would guess that it will shatter the joint and rip of the scapulae, but the arm will still hang onto the body, although useless.

Do you mean why they don't have blood waterfalls?

Haha no - I mean why is there no bleeding mechanic of any sort so that for example a zombie can be injured and will eventually die from blood loss.

Because Alpher. I'm sure it'll come it's just not a high priority.

Sure I understand that is alpha but it's interesting that this was never included in the mod either when it seems fairly logical and would be interesting for gameplay. I'm not going to pretend that I understand the coding involved but I would have thought it would have been reasonably straightforward to apply the bleeding system for players to zeds.

Also i thought the point of the alpha process is determining core game features as well as generating a stable game.
