Grimey Rick 3417 Posted March 9, 2014 Thirty seconds is fine. You can't expect a deterrent system to address every single possibility in a game with as many possibilities as DayZ. You win some, you lose some.
Sebidee 167 Posted March 9, 2014 How about zombies don't deal damage/aggro to ghosts? That would allow fresh spawns to combat log from zombies.
Schrankwand 5 Posted March 9, 2014 Question is, why not. 30s is already enough for thinking. If someone is going to combat log, shit happens. Instead of ghosting him,. which is a terrible idea for many reasons, and the worst being "Being killed when you cannot do anything against it" which is an idiotic reason if you have ever played the experimental with zombie respawning. But the worst thing is: The only reason you hate him is because you want him dead and win. If he does not want to play this game, shit happens, penalize his LOG IN timer, but please don't penalize any log OUT timer. That will just make the game awful to play. Especially if I enter another server, what do you want to happen? have my ghost over there for five minutes? let me die on the other server? Stop me from logging in for 15 minutes? All realism aside, this is a game meant to be fun. If someone logs out because he does not want to die, this is because this is after all still a game. Dying after logging out, however it happens, is not fun. I like the idea of getting a safe logout spot, but such a thing does not exist really anymore with the zombie respawning algorhithm. And logging in again to find yourself dead? Sorry, that is a gamebreaking experience.
