    Stable Branch - 0.55 Discussion

Here are my thoughts: - Less loot. Ok. We can do that. What is simply ridiculous is me standing in front of an apple tree trying to get at least healing, for 60 minutes. That is not fun or immersive. Going from "food and zeds are not a problem" to "Zeds are ridiculous and food isn't available" was a bit heavy. - Zeds: New behaviour is okay, but their melee behaviour is ridiculous. They will definitely hit you. Whatever you do, getting in range and fighting one means you get hit, even if your melee behaviour is perfect. But what is more ridiculous is the power of military zombies. I have now met three of them and two instakilled med. I was wearing a helmet and went from fully healed and full blood to dead in two strikes, which were basically instakills. This is boring. I know the game is supposed to be hard, but what is more important is bridging the level of "hard" and "too frustrating to be fun." The whole "stand in front of the three for an hour hitting F" thing was a bit putting me off and being fully armed and unable to deal with two zombies was a bit insane too. I had an AK loaded, pumped four bullets into one and got instakilled from the other? Nah. As for loot: Put more. It really is more fun with more loot, even if some items are dispersed and making you crazy. I would suggest tweaking the amount of food you need, and spawning a bit more. That keeps you in action, rather than standing in front of the berry bush ;)
  2. Looking at the forums right now, I would probably only tell two or three people from the whole team to actually be in the forum. People might actually get into the mode of wanting to explain over and over again, which would be quite unproductive. Currently, this is done by players. If devs started doing this, the onyl thing that would happen is delaying their ACTUAL work :D And they might possibly get depressed.
  3. So what he is talking about there is that they had shitty management. Because the community manager does not intersect with the dev team, he intersects with the head of the dev team, if done right. The community manager needs to be the spokes person that DIRECTLY talks to the Development head. He has a strategic update, listens, prepares major responses every week adn the development head meets him WEEKLY. A community manager is a manager, a strategic position that has a say. If he is only there to give out updates and not as a communication manager, he is useless, that is true. However, for some reason, many other companies use communication officers with great success.

My thoughts on the log out timer (30 sec)

Question is, why not. 30s is already enough for thinking. If someone is going to combat log, shit happens. Instead of ghosting him,. which is a terrible idea for many reasons, and the worst being "Being killed when you cannot do anything against it" which is an idiotic reason if you have ever played the experimental with zombie respawning. But the worst thing is: The only reason you hate him is because you want him dead and win. If he does not want to play this game, shit happens, penalize his LOG IN timer, but please don't penalize any log OUT timer. That will just make the game awful to play. Especially if I enter another server, what do you want to happen? have my ghost over there for five minutes? let me die on the other server? Stop me from logging in for 15 minutes? All realism aside, this is a game meant to be fun. If someone logs out because he does not want to die, this is because this is after all still a game. Dying after logging out, however it happens, is not fun. I like the idea of getting a safe logout spot, but such a thing does not exist really anymore with the zombie respawning algorhithm. And logging in again to find yourself dead? Sorry, that is a gamebreaking experience.
  5. The whole game is a public test. Simply add a buggy version, fix it on wednesday. Most will be fine with that... now I took my evening off for nothing ;)
  6. Which is why I really believe they should just keep pushing. Who cares if there is a damn invisibility bug, this is an alpha anyway. Keep pushing the damn updates to stable and fix it along the way, make it a priority if you want to, but just keep adding shit. This isn't a stable game in the first place, so just because there is a bug... who cares. Zombies are glitching through walls, we walk through doors using the "step over" motion. This is an alpha, simply push as much as you can guys... most of the stuff WILL get fixed along the way considering how many people will go nuts on bug reporting and flaming anyway :D

This happens to me everytime i entre a military building

I suggest, even IF you enter this building directly, to have a gun at gunpoint and at least taking out one of the guys. Nowadays we have opted to have one person aiming directly into the door with a mosin, the other person opening it in the most safe way. that is pretty bandit proof especially funny if the sniper is around 300m, crawling and gets more than one person.
