Iezza 108 Posted March 8, 2014 I have an idea, how about if you do not have human interaction that lasts over 2 minutes get within 20/30 feet of a human) or if both of you communicate(Text or Voip) ( for 10/15 hours then your brain starts to develop insanity. Insanity would cause you to : randomly hear Zeds when no one is around ( 15hrs into insanity) ,see ghostly figures of humans that then turn into screamers as you get close (jump out at you, 20hrs into insanity)randomly feel pain and messed up your status afflictions( not sure if hungry or insanity , 25Hrs)have suicidal thoughts, occasionally pull gun up to head ( if trigger is pressed at this time, you die , obvious wind up animation to avoid accidental death, 30hrs)Not being able to differentiate a zombie from a player ( 35hrs) Insanity can be cured by speaking/ being next to a human for 1/3* hours into insanity minutes ( insanity for 15hours can be cured in 5minutes of interaction. finnpalm 312 Posted March 8, 2014 There is a term called "cabin fever" which refers to a state than can, occur after prolonged time in solitude and not only by staying in a cabin, unlike what Wikipedia states. The symptoms (although this is not considered a medical affliction) includes a paniclike need for social interaction and a claustrophobic feeling. This state is easily cured by meeting other people.A pop-culture example is the movie "The Shining", although they're taking it further, allowing the main character to go completely nuts even though he is with his wife and child, which would in reality postpone the effect to some extent. Viner Cent 7 Posted March 8, 2014 I actually kind of like it. It would punish KOS players, and 15 hours ingame are a lot of time (like one to two weeks IRL). And it is a fakt people get crazy without social interaction, why not implement it? Duenan 226 Posted March 8, 2014 its not a bad idea. It would add something definately to the game if the fundamentals are reworked. I like the idea of just being around zombies as causing stress. Same with getting shot at. There could be a bit of a sanity meter like Amnesia where if you go nuts you auto suicide with whatever weapon you have. The only mental health aspects of this game are in the minds of the players. Butthurt about KOS? Go find and kill a KOS player. That's the only solution now and into the future of this game.
