First time I lost my temper :)

Okay, these zombies are pain in the ass, at least with all these bugs. They come through walls and follow you, and when you try to hit them with your weapon, you simply don't hit. This is dogshit. I just lost my character because I just couldn't get rid of those zombies. They followed me, and I tried to hit them, but it didn't have any effect, so I just decided to run away, which is also shit because I don't have time to collect any loot. I don't care if I have a gun and some dick kills me with a screwdriver, but these fucking zombies....

Even in their current state with all the bugs zombies are easy to deal with

I've only had trouble hitting zombies in certain buildings with melee weapons due to those buildings being bugged which is a known issue which causes you to hit an invisible wall

If the weapon isn't hitting an invisible barrier in certain buildings then your just missing them

If the weapon isn't hitting an invisible barrier in certain buildings then your just missing them

That's what I thought myself. Individual zombies are usually rather easy to deal with, but numerous ones are annoying, especially in a city, with low fps, with a lot of indoor environments.

We didn't get harder zombies. We got zombies that hit you from 5m, facing the other way. And zombies that can't be hit with any melee weapon but the fireaxe and the hoe, because all the other ones simply don't hit anywher near the aiming point. It's bullshit and it needs to change.

 

This is on the experimental servers, of course. Where, I might add, you also have to "cock" your melee weapon before you can swing it wildly around, hitting nothing.

I don't understand why you simply didn't find an exit and engage them outside once you realized that indoor combat with buggy zeds was not an option. at the very least run, you can always loot somewhere else once the heat is off.

i wish everyone had the mod experience, and understood the drastic and grueling changes we all went through over the development of the mod.

 

there was so much crazy shit, at one point the zombies would knock you to the floor one punch from 5 metres away lol...there was also an infection mechanic where if you took one hit from a  zombie you were essentially dead. or would be in short time without impossible to find AB

 

complaining about alpha zombies makes me chuckle

M8, next time you see a zombie just circle around them. You'll see they became useless and harmless. And yes, there are loads of people here commenting ,yet never played the previous mod.

 

These zombies are nothing at all if you compare the ones with mod.

Alpha. I mean...experimental! Damn!

 

But I had the same issue and (since i didn't found an existing one) made a bug report about it. I guess it's because of the new melee animations... On the other hand, no zombie has hit me from 5 meteres away...the always try to stand on my feet before the punch at me...

And it will be fixed...well you will have to make your melee weapon "ready" if you want to swing it (just like you have to put your gun up), but what will be fixed is, that it isn't put up automatically if you leftclick, just like the guns...and the zombie attacks are also being overhauled (I hope soon...together with the AI^^)

gnahaha I just remember the first major update to the respawn system when there were suddenly hundreds of zeds in every town and you could do NOTHING against them, because, well, no matter how good equipped you were, they killed you always if you were alone.

And their ability to break your leg with one hit on a 50% chance so that you lie there while the other 20 zeds finished the job....XD ah, memories...

Just be glad you died legitimately, those nasty ladders are the bane of my existence, lol...

 

But yeah, just you wait till they add in larger/respawning zombie infestations into this game, then the real fun begins...

seriously experimental branch Zombies are friggen killers.

 

also, I have found holding shift to make sure I am walking and just move lots around if fighting multiple Zeds in the streets.

Only attack them if you have a splitting axe/fireaxe and run from them if you don't, don't fight in buildings if they've glitched into walls, they may just stay stuck there unable to follow you unless you stick around right in front of them. (Use this to get away! Cheap, but meh, its still in alpha and you wanna play without dying stupidly, right?) If you're on experimental those two axes and the not in stable yet garden hoe are the only things that can kill them efficiently in my short experience. (two shots for hoe and spitting axe, one shot for fireaxe just like in stable) 

 

Circle strafe around them, keep your aiming recticle on their head and swing away. If one is charging you , start your swing before they reach you so you'll connect just as they reach you, its very easy to take out multiple ones charging you from across the map this way. Always aim for the head.

Personally I like what they're doing with experimental zombies, they just need more of them and buff shovels, wrenches, machetes etc in terms of damage. 

 

When the zombies reach full strength, the forums are going be flooded with tears.

Indeed, sweet, sweet tears. Can't wait, should change the attitudes of some of the bored KoS guys.

I do think they could adjust the zeds a bit. I seem to be bleeding 9 out of 10 hits again like a few patches ago. and the state of the experimental servers being packed full most of the time, it's hard to find much of anything even inland. My first time on the experimentals I had gone through my spawn tshirt rags within 10 minutes. Yes I know I have to adjust my play style to not just run without a care for anything except players.

I once got infected by a zombie, used AB, and went back to my truck and had a drink from an unboiled canteen, where I promptly became infected again!

If the building is glitched and the zombies arn't affected by your attack.... Run.. You can't do much else.
