Deathlove 2286 Posted March 8, 2014 So i found both and had ammo for them tried to chamber them and WHAT DO YOU KNOW it dosnt work. Great more damn guns that require cartridge maintenance to function. Meh im sure they will get it fixed but this is why i like guns like the SKS and Magnum or even the mosin until i explore enough to find the cartridges for specific pieces. I have not been able to try the 2 guns yet but hows the range and damage on them? And can the 22 rifle use attachments? I have nothing against cartridge based weapons but as we know unless you farm a specific area for a long time they are fare and few with things like the FNX at least when you actually need the item to work. Also again they add new clothing with out the option to tear them into rags. I can understand pants considering they might be tougher to rip apart if in good condition but these new flannel shirts you cant even rip up atm.

Deathlove 2286 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) Inb4 Alpha. Enjoy your testing of an unfinished product. :)That doesn't answer my question though. Have you even been able to try them out yet? Edited March 8, 2014 by Deathlove
antonioajc 500 Posted March 8, 2014 That doesn't answer my question though. Have you even been able to try them out yet?No since I've become emotionally attached to my regular character on stable and I've heard that there's a chance of those characters being wiped by switching between stable and exp. Not worried to much about it since the whole game is an alpha anyways. At least i wont worry about it till permanent storage's get put in lol. But yeah the guns are pretty cool looking though and you get an alternative besides the FNX. Now if i can just find the damn cartidges for the two...,..lol But the boonies and new variant ballistic helms are good and the new civi clothing gives you more options to better clothing slots. Gekkonidae 270 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) report the issues. I already made a bug report on the .22 rifle not getting rid of the empty bullet after shooting. This occurred randomly for me after going through almost a whole box of ammo. Annoying, but they can't fix it unless you report it. From what I saw, no one said shit about it prior to my report. raezion420 97 Posted March 8, 2014 I haven't used any yet as I just played for a little bit before work, but I did get shot in the chest with the .22 rifle and it seemed to really pretty much tickle. I had no vest or anything just leather jacket on. I was also full health before being shot. It ruined the jacket, didn't make me bleed, and I healed the damage back within about 3 mins. Sounds about right for just a little .
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted March 8, 2014 I've heard the 10/22 and Mk3 are very underpowered (unjustly so) in the game, where it takes 2-3 headshots with either to kill someone.

Gekkonidae 270 Posted March 8, 2014 .22s are kind of weak though. It would take more than 1 shot to kill someone with one, unless you were lucky.

It would take more than 1 shot to kill someone with one, unless you were lucky.Well yeah, no one's gonna be doing 1km headshots with a .22lr but still. 100m or less a shot to the head should be deadly.

radiologue 1 Posted March 8, 2014 I had not seen the .22 mag, but managed to get the rifle and a few boxes of ammo. It was taking 2-3 headshots to get a zombie down. If you were lucky the first shot would knock the zombie down giving you time to reload... but this didn't always happen. <fire shot> <open inventory> <drag ammo to gun> <run> <wait for reload animation> <repeat><repeat><repeat> just to get one zombie down. If i don't find a .22 magazine, I will most likely pass on picking this gun up. At least until hunting is implemented. On the plus side, It's a very quiet gun. :)
Deathlove 2286 Posted March 8, 2014 Yeah point 22 rifle is TERRIBLE. It ended up getting me killed. Not worth it without a mag the gun is to damn retarded to even kill anything atm without extreme precision down the iron sight. For such a quite gun it attracts TONES of zombies. gomeowmeow 45 Posted March 8, 2014 i think its stupid that a 22 in this game takes two headshots to kill a zed and im assuming same for the player it needs to be 1. and why did they call it the sporter 22 instead of ruger 10/22? is it for copyright reasons?
coltonlong 211 Posted March 8, 2014 Ok, so I can say for having gone through a whole box of .22 ammo with my sporter, and half that much with the MK3, I have only had one instance where my sporter took two headshots to down a zed. Doesnt mean its right, but hey, Alpha man. On the up side, ninja stealth mode engaged when no one can hear the shots! The sporter is quiet, The mk3 is perfectly quiet. (for a gun, I mean)

The M4, Mosin, and SKS get around this because I believe no one company owns the rights to them anymore and are produced by many many MANY different companies under different names, sort of Public Domain guns at this point as long as you don't attach a brand name to them. That and there'd be bitching about why an M4 is called 'Tactical Carbine' or some such nonsense. Where as a Ruger 10/22 is made solely by Ruger and as far as I know doesn't have many 'knock offs' so they would have reason to lawyer up.
Iarfur 32 Posted March 8, 2014 The ruger 10/22 comes in a bunch of diffrent variations, one of them being the Sporter. I've tried it out a bit, found 2 30 round magazines pretty fast and went through them killing zombies. Nice ironsights, took 1-2 headshots to bring down a zed, first bullet always made them fall to the ground, quiet (but still attracted attention from the undead). Also found a Colt 1911 but unfortunately no magazine, got myself killed before being able to try it out. Looks like arrows will be the only silent ranged weapon.Or throwing hatchets. :)
