Paper and Pens...

Does anyone actually write messages on the paper? 

the past 4/5 times i have died, i had took with me a nice note to the bandit that shot me.

but since i started playing the standalone i have wrote many massages on where i am heading or where their are guns/axes that i found while around town and left them around the streets in plain sight, but have never seen anyone else doing the same.

 

any ideas?

I do this often for freshspawns...placing a big backpack full of stuff on the street with a note in it ;)

I write "If you try to run or move you will be shot. Raise your arms, by pressing F2, you will not be harmed", then leave it in the middle of the road generally in a town and generally with another honey pot item like a fresh apple or a drink. 

Whether I shoot at them or not is not really the main point, it's more fun just watching them stand there, obviously reading the note, then seeing them look around in paranoia.

Might be because persistant items aren't in yet, so dissapears when server restarts. Keeping a note or business card type thing on you is probably better.

Has a lot of potential once we can leave them in places and not have them poof in ten minutes. Other than that I typically try to do a diary style writing every time I log in if I have enough paper. Maybe it will make for an interesting read for the bandit that drops me (probably not since it's usually glitchers).

I make notes all the time! But I keep them in my backpack for people to find when I die.

As with the game concept, paper notes can be used as much as your imagination allows only limited by persistence.

 

It is a great marketing tool for groups actively present in game.Also can be used as an ID card of sorts.

 

Paper only needs a new texture to SHOW immediately that it has a note written instead of the default clean white

I'm kind of hoping it'll be possible to import a very simple Paint-like programme into the game, so we can line-draw on notes.

US Experimental servers seem to restart every 4 hours or so which means notes disappear unless they're carried in someone's inventory.

I always try to write down some story i encounter during my life, people i met , killed , talked to ... also i like to write down blood types of group members on paper

Yes, I often write notes and leave them in my backpacks. :D

 

Sometimes guilt trips, sometimes riddles. ;)
