10 hours played havent seen a gun or food

As the title says I have played for now 10 hours and have yet to encounter 1 gun or even 1 peice of food to eat. Dont worry though, i did however find 2 cans of pepsi in this time span..

 

So. Where are all the guns at? Seriously? This is rediculous. Are there even guns in the lower part regular buildings at all anymore or do you specifically have to go to military bases to get anything decent? Either way i havent seen anything anywhere. Help

Where are you looting?

 

If its within 1000 meters of the coast, your too close to the coast.

 

If its within 2000 meters of the coast, its probably still too close.

because in the mod loot respawned, in standalone it does not (at the moment, and fuck having guns near the coast anyway, just asking for grief).

 

yes there is a map function, you just have to find the map pieces or use the dayzdb map.

there is no objective in the game, you make up your own.  Cherno, Elektro, Air base's or any of the big places you will find people, when you do find em please don't come back here and complain about it though...

The object is whatever you want it to be.  If your imagination is limited to that of shooting people on the shore having the same problems you had well then so be it.

no, much like using a real map you need to pinpoint a landmark.

wow someone just came out of nowhere and shot me in the head with a pistol and it sounded terrible. is that what you guys meant by the guns sounding bad? i seem to remember really liking the gun sounds in the mod , is this another common consensus here?

Good loot spawns:

 

Piano Houses (white, green trim, large piano inside) for general civilian guns + some food.

TEC buildings (Large, square, office looking buildings) also for civilian guns.

Both of the red/orange colored brick houses tend to have food/water.

Schools generally have good loot.
