Will there be more performance updates?

Recommended Posts

Hiya! I'm just wondering will there be more performance updates that would provide more FPS? I've already done all the tweaks and everything I can (Im running on preeeetty low end laptop) but Im still enjoying it and its playable, but ofc we all would love more fps :P so here I am asking.

so will there be any performance updates that would bring more fps? even 2 or 3 fps would help ALOT.

Any information about this? :)

I hope so! ;)

Performance optimizations is WIP obviously. Things will also more than likely get worse before they get better with the addition of new features etc... With any luck a year from now when they game is in beta it will be a hell of a lot better.

I would hope so! While no news dean said he wants the main game to run better then the mod so I would not be suprised if by the end of the year the game runs at least a few more fps better.

Isn't this community wonderful?

If you consider exploiting in an alpha, ego mongering, and general douchery "wonderful" then yes, this community is indeed wonderful.

Overall, it's just business as usual for a modern gaming community, aka it kinda sucks.  It is however better than some, so use that to fuel your "glass is half full" optimism.

No, this is it.  We are at the end of it all in the "Early Access Alpha"

That was awesome. Short, on the point and mean. I like Canadians in this forum.

Meh I have a bad conscience now...so I'll answer:

No, it wasn't. Performance is an ongoing task for the devs and with removing desync, getting rid of bottlenecks etc. we will see performance increases in the future. MAYBE they will lead to more Zombies+more loot but not more FPS since they are serverside, but I am pretty sure, at the end of the Alpha, the performance will be a lot better.

they arent going to spend tons of time optimizing at this point. Its likely more efficient to add some content and tweak other things, then eventually optimize in bulk.

There are several DayZ SA guides for FPS boost you can easily Google.

if you want an fps boost buy a real computer. a low end laptop is not gonna cut it when this game gets close to completion.

Isn't this community wonderful?

It's full of ignorant, search function deficit members.... and then the other members who are sick of seeing the exact same questions and comments. After replying thoughtfully and seriously several times, people get severely tired of repeating themselves like an idiot when someone will ask the exact same question the next day.

I can't blame em too much! :P

In my generally tactful art of innuendo's I would say we need a single player campaign just to combat the I'll effects of "the" community...

didnt the nvidia and amd updates get delayed?

Wasnt rocket saying they should be released like a week ago to exp?

cant remember the specifics but i recall it was soon.

As for performance improvements, they have done great so far.

20-35 fps at start, now im hitting north of 55 fps with dips to only 30...that is a great improvement in my books so far!

It also takes two minutes to read the warning label that pops up in the middle of your screen with he big red "I UNDERSTAND" button at the bottom <_<

Plus there wouldn't be so many raging little nobodies if people learned to understand what "EARLY ACCESS ALPHA" means.  Believe it or not, most of us are sick of repeating ourselves to the same stupid questions everyday.

Mine is as smooth as silk in the country, as soon as a building is in site it drops dramatically.

A previous patch did seem to improve fps, however it's back to it's stuttering self now.

  • Network: Inventory items causing desync due to non-guaranteed update spam (hotfix currently until guaranteed message change is complete)
  • Network: Optimizations to network messaging updates should result in reduced bandwidth and some increases in FPS for clients/server

friday i believe..

have fun
