Role Playing Clothing

Hopefully we will end up with 1000's of different clothing items, ranging from plain civilian to very rare high end military gear, with all the inbetween stuff aswell hehe.

 

if you were washed up on the coast of a country filled with murderers and zombies, why would you care about trying to dress up like a cop or fireman or whatever else. surely just playing to stay alive is enough "roleplay"

Nobody is forcing you to RP anything mate, but some of us love RP so much we simply cant help it :)

Just because you "dont get it" doesnt mean the 1.8 million other players dont get it either, remember people are very very different in this world and DayZ is the perfect game to reflect this.

Well your only words was "i dont get it" so it could be for a multitude of reasons :)

And all i said was you dont have to be part of it, but just because you dont understand it, doesnt mean it should not be in the game tbh.

 

You might not get it, but many others do.

It was not a personal attack of any kind, although it sounds like you took it that way mate.

I, personally, would love to dress up like a firefighter and RP that all the way, or dress like a doctor and run around pretending i know how to fix people who are injured or sick.

Thats just how i like to play, but taht doesnt mean you have to do it at all.

 

So basicly, why would they do it? because they can :) simple as that hehe.

i just saw you quoting me, then replying to questions i didnt ask.

 

you keep saying, "you dotn have do do it f you dotn want to" which is such a pointless statement to keep making.

 

after all your words, i am still at a loss as to why dressing up as a fireman, doctor, policeman, or anything else, woudl be relevant in dayz.

 

edit: alpha dogmeat, it actually is possible to dress liek the character you pictured, even with flatcap,

in dayz. they have trousers, wool coat, shotgun wellies, caps, etc

I like this idea, one of the things I like about DayZ is being able to customize how I look, this suggestion would make DayZ a lot more fun.

What if every single time you respawned, You got a different set of clothing to work with? You know, for the hardcore role players.

Say they also added in a perk system that randomized upon death, like blood. You would respawn and say "oh look, i must have been a mechanic/police officer/dockworker/etc." They would then have perks directly tied to that character until it died.

Anyway, just a rambling thought. Reguardless, i would love to see more clothes diectly pulled from jobs and workforces, rather than just have the worlds largest hoodiefest.

If we are talking about clothing your character starts with i would like this :)

A belt slot type of storage would also be nice.  Fanny packs, belt pouches, holsters, etc. As well as the ability to put a sawed off in the chest holster like a BAMF.

 

 

Fanny packs (for medical gear), leg holsters (for your SMGs), helmet bands (to hold your smokes)... how many slots are we going to allow? lol We may need a WEIGHT system if people are going to add item after item. Also, noise levels should increase as you carry more stuff.
