some kind of indication for people who kill for no apparent reason

I totally get your point @ Lady Kyrah, but -imho- most people would stick together though, of course there would be tensions but society -even in a much smaller scale - like in the DayZ setting would band together as this - as said - would be the only way to survive.

 

I might have some hunting skills but no medicine skills at all, I might not like you and you might not like me, but we would team up...even if for only a short time. Or maybe I would trade you some food after you have healed me and we would talk about what areas we've passed just recently and if there would be any goods/ threats.

 

I personally think that most humans - even with having their own survival set as priority - would not harm any other human being for no obvious reason. Maybe they would be armed and would tell you to bugger off, but they would not kill if someone else is not a direct threat to theimselves or their group as ammo would be rare and shooting someone who ain't a threat would be waste of ammo that you might need in any other situation (and then might die because you don't have any left).

 

I wonder how the whole KoS'ing would turn out if people would not be able to hop servers camping in certain critical areas and could farm up in like no time. Of course, people would still kill whenever they get the chance, but they would think twice about it.

 

I'd maybe try and robb someone or shoot him to death too if he wouldn't give me what I want/ need but there at least would be

a ) some interaction

b ) a re-thinking of the given opportunities and calculating the situation

rather than just running around and shoot everyone no matter what.

 

One problem at the moment amongst other things is that (some) people are fully geared as they were serverhopping and got nothing else to do now because the whole "survive and get decent gear"  aspect - what imho is meant to be a critical part of the game - got rendered obsolete.

Well daisho, everything you say is correct except the suggestion.. indicator above a players head to indicate things, that's absurd :D

 

At least I think we can hope that when we are eventually dealing with alot more infected on the map in some months time, players will be able to focus more on surviving than kos.                                                                      

 

So dedicated bandits could be potential minority,  SIF

I 'm well aware of that, there's an updated suggestion within the thread.
