Dayz Community "Pop-Up" Event - today @ 1600 PST

So Ive been sitting here a little bored, and I was lacking a reason to play Dayz until I thought of something that just may interest some people here..

 

A Dayz Community Pop-Up Event! It will start today at 1600 pst or 4:00pm pacific standard time. This will be the first of many events to come, and if things go well (people sharing good stories of a successful event here on this thread) then I will enlist others to help make this a weekly thing. 

 

Based on the escalating events in the Ukraine I thought it would be fitting to have our event today be about Revolution. Starting at 1600 pst on all US East official servers (US East 0-1 and up) we are calling for all players dressed in mostly camo to head to any military base as you are being called up to fight for your country. All players dressed in mostly civilian clothing should make attempts to overrun any and all military bases and to hold them down until the servers restart. You may play however you like, and may change sides but please stick to the one theme of camo's versus civilians. It would be best if players who are dressed alike work together and do not fire upon each other, but in a revolution anything can happen so go out and have fun! 

 

Players may be taken captive, shot on sight, or forced to flee the area but at the end of the event we ask all players to report back to this thread with videos, photos, and stories of their interactions during the Dayz Community Pop-Up Event: MIlitary vs Civilians March 2, 2014 1600 pst all US East Official SA servers (try to stick to well populated servers)

Green Mountain

Vybor Military Base, etc.

Other options include: all small military tent areas, Police Stations, & Fire Stations

If anyone who can stream gameplay checks in and sees this, please let us know if you would like to invite others to your stream.. that way if people cannot join in, perhaps they can at least spectate the event. :)

Are you thinking more of "team v team" sorta, or semi free for all.

 

It might be good to have people who want to participate declare a 'side'...so for example:

I'm in

Military

 

Just something basic to give us an idea of how many people there are and what not.

 

Also, should TS be allowed? Personally I think TS should be used to coordinate everyone, but as soon as the event starts make it against the rules.

 

Granted that won't stop some, but it would be fun to make it more 'realistic'.

I figured we could just leave it loose based, but anyone is welcome to take any sort of reigns they wish.. it would be cool to see, say on one server people have set up a TS channel and everyone is in there.

 

My main goal was to get people moving across the map heading towards the same locations sorting of forcing interaction on a certain group of servers, rather than just one server to allow for some flexibility. I like the idea that a lot of players in server will have no idea this event is even happening and then all of a sudden the NWAF turns into a clusterf**&^. 

 

Im going to be hopping in soon to whatever US East server has space but is almost full.. hopefully I can run into some action where Ill be holding down the Vybor Military Base for my motherland, Chernarus!
