DayzForumer 284 Posted March 2, 2014 Yeah. It reduces the amount of pylogons onscreen at the time. 100000 is the lowest you can go ingame, but the .cfg allows you to go down even more. Anyways, it's a good thing to improve FPS and you should lower it if you have problems in cities etc. It doesn't render trees in the distance if you have it too low. (I think.)Never mind, it just prioritises like this:Terrain.Buildings.Players, vehicles and NPC's.Bushes, trees and greenery.
Gurk-o-vich 25 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Regarding fair play: Is this an allowed alteration? Edit: I've never played the mod but some players told me that you were actually able to disable trees and bushes by changing certain values in your .cfg. I don't want that to happen because of fair play :) Edited March 2, 2014 by Gurk-o-vich

Pbo's contain textures and models, deleting it removes all of the models and that in the game, changing the cfg is completely fair and legal.

hombrecz 832 Posted March 2, 2014 If you set scene complexity too low, dont be surprised, if you suddenly cant see players at distance. On the other hand, playing with low FPS is pain anyway, so I can understand some folks are resorting to this.
St. Jimmy 1631 Posted March 2, 2014 Scene complexity is pretty much tied to object detail. Lower object detail on low and scene complexity goes down to 300000. If you go lower IMO too many objects start to disappear. Also viewDistance=; and preferredObjectViewDistance=; are pretty high on default. I've mine 1700 and 1000. Gurk-o-vich 25 Posted March 2, 2014 I've got sceneComplexity=100 000 now and that just works great! I really can walk through middle-sized villages without having FPS problems. preferredObjectViewDistance=1000 and that is fine as well. I don't think I am going to have problems spotting other players with those values?!

Yeah you will, at 100k you'll notice buildings with low LOD pretty close; if someone shoots you from the window you won't be able to see him because the house he's shooting from is still a cardboard box placeholder on your screen. I've got mine at 450k and take the 25-30fps in cities for granted.

I am curious that I can spot z's from a good km away but players disappear at around 300-400m leaving just their gear behind :DI really have to reconsider if it's not better to deal with 20fps but not be surprised by snipers or M4 guys that easy...
