Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 2, 2014 No I'm not server hopping, believe it or not i actually do test the game out but how or why am I desyncing as the only player on the server? What is causing this?
dulix11 731 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) I thought rocket explained the desync problem in the devblog? The game is spamming loads of information, for instance when you pick up an item, the game doesn't know if the server got the information, so it spams the shit out of it JUST TO BE SURE. I think that's what the problem is. They will (hopefully) fix it in the next update, the game will only send 1 piece of information, instead of 1000000000000. It would make sense to be trying to sync up to other players
dvsilverwing 241 Posted March 2, 2014 I always thought desync was caused by a players own connection to the server, so wouldn't it not be related to the other players in the server at all? On an unrelated note, I've had no experience in the matter but I find it hard to believe women taste good.
Nicko2580 398 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Desync is between you and the server, not you and other players. So if the connection between you and the server is shoddy, it doesn't matter how many other players are around you're going to get desync issues. For example if you get a massive lag spike on your connection (unrelated to the game) that will give you desync issues even on a server that you normally have a perfect connection to. Grimey Rick 3417 Posted March 2, 2014 No I'm not server hopping, believe it or not i actually do test the game out but how or why am I desyncing as the only player on the server? What is causing this? I find I get a metric fuckton more desync when I'm playing a geared character with First Aid Kit, Ammunition Box and Small Protector Cases. I really think item containers are a huge part of the problem.
Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 2, 2014 Awesome thanks guys. It's just been happening a lot more recently and getting really annoying. Luckinly it hasn't gotten me killed yet but the desync has lasted up to almost 5 mins on some occasions
hells high 676 Posted March 2, 2014 Out of curiosity why do you think you being the only one on the server should negate any type of lag or desync issues? Even if you are the only one on, your client still has to communicate with the server.
