Nerd RAAAAAAGE! (my first death)

Well, this game officially made me nerd rage last night, which is something I rarely do.  :o I had my first death and it wasn't even from a zombie or another player. Sean and I were playing on a server that was nearly full and he had just logged out for a bit to go get something to eat when it happened. I had finally found my first sniper rifle (Mossin) and was looking forward to getting a chance to take out some bandits and zombies so I climbed up this ladder to this little tower so that I could get a good view of the surrounding area. There wasn't really anyone around so after a few minutes I decided I should go back down and try to find some more food and that was when I fell off the ladder and died.   >:(  >:(  >:(

Needless to say,it's a common knowledge that in the world of DayZ statistically,ladders claim more lives than bandits and zombies together :P

Haha, yep, I've seen more than a few friends die at the hands of the laddermonster. Just be glad that the 'gatemonster' has stayed in the mod and not found its way over to the Standalone - I've seen people bashed tens of metres and left with broken legs and a thimble full of blood by an opening gate. :P

 

I remember shortly before the SA was released to the public, I was lucky enough to bag an invite to help with the load testing, and was playing with a few friends - we'd all gotten split up, but we were chatting in Teamspeak and whatnot. One of us had spotted what looked like a new military base near Zelenogorsk earlier, so we thought we'd go check that out and see if we could find it.

I got there first, and couldn't see much, but right next to me was that huge red and white radio tower. I figured I'd climb up to the top for a better look.

 

THREE ladders. Three damn ladders I had to climb to get to the top of it, and they were the worst kind of ladders too - the ones that just go straight up through a platform and then onto the next level, so you have to get off and back on each time, and your character basically steps out onto absolutely nothing to do so.

Whilst I wouldn't say I'm phobic, I'm certainly not the biggest fan of heights in the world, and despite knowing it was only a game, I don't mind admitting I got a little nervous when I was fidgeting about on top of that thing. Thankfully, I managed to get back down in one piece, but man, climbing ladders is an exercise in tension in this game. :P

I don't know whats wrong with your guys' eye-feet coordination... I have never fell down ladders. I go up and down them all the time (I like to see if any loot spawns on top of buildings [it never does])

I've broken my legs attempting to get on one of the ship ladders, I was flung 40 stories to my death in Cherno off one of the high rises there, I was shot in electro using a ladder, I climbed into one of the green lookouts at NWAF and decided while pulling out my gun that I was a horrible person and flew to my death, although strangely enough I did manage to climb down a ladder using only my spine and all was well.  I don't know where people keep glitching thru stairs either I've used plenty of them with no issue and generally can climb ladders just fine.

It does but i have only ever found 1 piece of loot on the hospital roof in electro, it was a defibrillator

What is really annoying is that Sean logged back in to try to get my stuff but it was gone. I don't know if that was a bug too or if someone actually was nearby and stole my gear after I fell. I didn't even have a chance to fire my sniper rifle.  :|

 

These bugs are nothing new, I'm starting to get used to them. Skyrim was riddled with bugs when it was first released and BF4 had its share of issues. Planetside 2 actually has a similar bug where if you drive a vehicle over certain things, it will explode for no apparent reason.  :lol:

Take your perfectly coordinated self to the apartment buildings and brave them top to bottom and you will impress me until then your just lucky.

I know of at least 1 building in Elektro that spawns a Mosin on the roof more times than not.  Another one just up the road from the Mosin almost always has a pistol.  Don't give up on the roofs so easily :)

The top of the tech buildings has a weapon 90% of the time just have to understand where it is and how to find it.  It's invisible almost every time.
