Stealth kills; strangulation, suffocation or hunting knife.

Ok, so I am setting myself up for the serial killer jokes here, but bare with me.

You have very little ammo, you have a group of players all tracking you down, you make your way to one of the industrial estates, you see that they split up (in true Scooby-Doo style) and you want to take them out one by one in a stealth style-ee. At present there is no way to do this. DayZ shouldn't be all about scoping someone from 1km or emptying a 20 clip. Stealth kills would also allow you to kill them without any damage to their gear.

You know I'm right, even if it makes me a bit creepy suggesting it.. ;)

I would LOVE good stealth mechanics.  They have a such a long way to go to be able to implement them though...sound is such a critical part of any stealth system and let's be honest sound isn't a strength of this game right now...

As someone who loves axe murdering people, I would love for more avenues of murder to be opened up. Not a fan of guns. Guns are too quick.
I would like the sharp stabby weapons to be more..meaningful.. I mean.. Why use one for anything but opening cans when it takes 2 dozen strikes for someone to feel it?

An axe is fine, and certainly a solution for zombies, but it's all a bit Bateman don't think? No finesse, no style.

I'm loving the piano wire idea, especially if it managed to stop people using VOIP (although obviously TS would still be an issue).

Just think of it though, you creep up behind someone, get the hunting knife out, hand over the mouth, blade between the ribs and you're just left going.. "shhh... shhh... shhhh.. that's right, you sleep now". :D

There are stealth kills in the game already! Or well.. at least it was quiet.

I went to the kitchen to find something to drink, came back and was dead. 

Now.. I stood afk inside a building in Zelenegorsk on DE-03 experimental ( regular ), pitch black night and no moon, so even the gamma trick didn't work properly, yet someone apparently found and killed me without as much as a sound. Rather curious I think.

Nah, don't worry about that, I'm no killer, I just have my own way with words and describing violent acts. I mean who hasn't been in some crazy fights, but no, I would hate to have to do that to someone if it's not behind the screen.

 

I could only do that to someone who hurts people I like to wind me up.

 

As I said, no worries, I just get really creative with that stuff.

Considering that you can sneak up on someone without them hearing your footsteps right now allows you to kill them with an axe very easily and quietly.  I think that is about the best we are going to get though.

I think being able to do that when handcuffed would remove much of the point of having handcuffs anyway though.
