Hows the zombie respawning? Are there alot of them or are they still rare?

Recommended Posts

Bought the game last night and only was able to play for about an hour before the update came on. Saw the patch notes and noticed the zombie respawning.

Are there alot of them? Like how many on screen in a given area. Hoping theres enough that there actually dangerous now.

Do we have the new med centers and pig shops?

Ive seen a lot of zombies when playing just not enough to offer a challenge when armed with an axe.

I don't think this patch was pushed to stable yet. It's only experimental. I'll give it a go and see and report back if the update did indeed drop.

On experimental. Seems like there are some more :)

Perhaps not more but they are respawning so it feels like there are more.

Holy Jesus Fuck the zombies are 10 times better now. Just was attacked by about 30 of them (not all at once, but 2-4 at a time). Emptied my SKS, then my revolver, reloaded with a speed-loader, then switched to my spliting axe. While I was bandaging  and reloading my revolver another wave came again, unloaded 6 rounds, 6 from the speed-loader again. They actually damaged me pretty good. Seems that, after they die, they re spawn really fast, so if they hear gunshots, they come running toward you. Or maybe the engine even spawns them nearby when you shoot. Since I tried a newfound fnx in the forest (quite far off the city) and one came after me 10 seconds after the shot.

The respawning is only on experimental for now.

Can't wait for this to reach stable

I may actually have to shoot some zombies now

I personally dont like it. I get hit now constantly by Zs.

You need a Gun to shoot zombies ^^ Will never get one if the area you are spawning is looted und they ruin your shirt by one hit, so you cant bandage.

IMHO they should have implemented Z- and Loot-Respawn simultainiously. But the cry for more Zombies has lead them to a bad gameplay decision.

Ok just had a cool little moment. Zombies are pretty cool now. I was on experimental and kinda forgot  about the zombie respawning. Server only had like 10 people on it so I figured I might be ok if I crawled around a little bit and looked for a stick (i broke my leg earlier). So I crawl out of the jail in Elektro and I have a pistol, with no magazine, but plenty of ammo.

Chamber a round, shoot a zombie. Rinse, repeat. I did this for a little while but there was more than I thought there was going to be. A few got to me and I started bleeding and had no bandages. But I stopped them. I search the office building but couldn't find anything. I was running out of time.

I decide the only way I'm gonna live is if someone helps me. I start shooting my gun into the air in the middle of the street, hoping it will attract someones attention. Well it did, just not the kind i was looking for. MORE zombies start coming from around the corners. I see someone in the distance. I started crying out for help, the person sees me fighting the zombies, and slowly just walks away. I bleed out, dead.

Exactly this.  There are a few more, but honestly, not enough to even matter yet.  They create a slight problem when you are stalking a person, especially when that person knows you are there.

So if I look into towns I can see zombies then I know players are there?

Like the mod.

We need zeds more than items at this stage. Just put the mod ones back in they were better alpha or not.

Ohhh respawning...step in the right direction here :)

Guess they aint pushed any ai revamps yet?

Can't wait for there to be a load at each location and respawning....try getting in and out of the barracks then lol. The best improvement so far for me is them running in doors. In the mod a building with 2 exits was a lifeline. Run in one door and out the other, leaving your train of zombies behind. A building with one entrance (like a barracks) could mean death if you couldn't stem the flow of zombies coming in. Now they are quick inside even a spare exit wont help :)
