deebz1234 243 Posted February 25, 2014 this new batch of DayZ players are unreal. it blows my mind. considering how the MOD flourished from from vanilla, why would SA die so early? look at minecraft, its creator left within a year and how far did that game go? threads like this, while you may think you are being clever, are just retarted. dusty_nuttles 130 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) As all of us know Dean "Rocket" Hall is leaving Dayz. When Notch left Minecraft the game became an autistic catastrophe of horses and dildos. What will happen when Dean leaves? Who will be the new leader? I'm guessing Hicks, whom I like better anyway. Minecraft is a f@cking game for kids---how do you ruin a kids game? Its like ruining Pacman, namsayin? Look, Hall is the visionary. He doesn't need to be here all the way until the end. The groundwork is layed down and what needs to be done is crystal clear. I'm not worried about this in the slightest. I'm also pretty sure he'll be around for consulting. Edited February 25, 2014 by Bennet

dusty_nuttles 130 Posted February 25, 2014 A Visionary?!?!? Zombie games are not a new concept......Stop sucking his cock. Yes a visionary. The content and how this game is played is his vision. Is it not? Just because zombies are in the game doesn't mean its the same as every other zombie game. Is this game like LFD? No. Lets stop with the homoerotic fantasy. Didn't know if one says something positive about someone thats the same gender they want to suck cock.

Has the idea now been copied hmm maybe and will it be so again in the future possibly. Edit the beans are for the aussie actor in ya profile pic... Plus commando is a classic.. hells high 676 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) You realize that as the leader and ideas guy, Dean is going to be laying a LOT of groundwork and planning in the next 10 months. Everyone keeps yammering that Bohemia has their money and now they don't need to innovate as much, well if you believe that then you have to believe that they certainly aren't going to reverse 10 months of steady fucking work to completely change the game. Sergey is the revolutionary, not Dean. huehuehue

Siberian (DayZ) 527 Posted February 25, 2014 http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/04/05/lead-game-designer-lee-hammock-leaving-fallen-earth/ this whole situatio reminds me of when this happened to another game that was in development that i USED to enjoy.. after Lee left, so did his vision of the game.. and Fallen earth quickly fell off the edge of the world so to speak, never to become what Lee had envisoned.. i see the same same thing happening here... It can very easily turn into a PvE mmo with balancing mechanics and health packs. There are lots of people who are clamoring for that which is why there are lots of pve mmo's with balancing mechanics and health packs. DayZ is different because it's hard. You can say you're friendly and you'll get kos for being such a naive fool. That's the whole point!

Geckofrog7 1168 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Yep, one person is leaving when the game is released, so it's obviously over. Edited February 25, 2014 by Geckofrog7
doctorwhy 157 Posted February 25, 2014 I don't think it's over. 1.) He's still got 10 months with the company. That is a LOT of development the way they've been handling sprints.2.) Many other ideas have been passed down from predecessors and survived in many other industries. Product Mangers/Developers change roles as well in other development scenarios not just gaming. Case in point (probably a really loose one) The Harry Potter series had different directors throughout and is still very decent and cohesive. 3.) By the time it hits full release we might be bored with the game anyway and on to new things. Probably our fault for getting in so early.

haviv[3rdid] 57 Posted February 25, 2014 DayZ will be over when there really is a zombie apocalypse and we'll have to worry about being killed for a real can of beans.
