oh, for the sake of people who lag alot, the map should be divided

Recommended Posts

this is not a troll, its a suggestion

if you think its a troll go jump off the window

(seriously i hate people who call me troll just because i said something that they dont like)

so

not everyone in the world has top class gaming PC that can run dayz without lag

im on a mid 2010 macbook pro with bootcamp so dayz performance life has been petty miserable for me

so since the chernarus+ is unimaginably (is it even a word?) huge, wouldn't it work to divide the map into sections and let players load different areas when they enter it

wouldnt it reduce lag?

what do you guys think? would this be implemented later?

And what would be the point in having used the RV engine then? No, it won't be implemented. Maybe for underground instances but that is it.

People have been playing this map since 2009.

No, maybe when they add the other 4/5ths of Chernarus, but not for the current map.

And no, you're not a troll, you just need to get a real computer instead of dragging everyone else along with you.

Probably because you are most likely running near minimum requirements. Ill just paste them here

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1
  • Processor: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD 3830 or Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 512 MB VRAM
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Hard Drive: 10 GB available space

Get a part time job and build a PC for yourself. Might take you a month of work, then a day or two to build.. Would guesstimate 600 on a lower end and 1000 for something much more fitting

Firstly, unimaginably is a word. Second, the appeal of Day Z is that it is an enormous open world. There are no loading screens, and that's what people like. In theory, I could fire a sniper rifle from the far west side of the map, and that bullet would be capable of killing someone on the east coast. This is what makes DayZ DayZ. Loading screens are a terrible idea. Toss the Mackbook out the window and buy a real computer, or better yet, buy the parts for a better computer and slap em together. It's pretty fan and can be very rewarding.

Also, I'd like to add that if you haven't already done so, there are several graphical tweaks you can make to the game's files that will make the game run better. I play Day Z on two computers depending on where I am at the time. One is much worse than the other, and it is actually bellow recommended settings, but I manage to play just fine with these tweaks.

After making sure your in game graphics settings are all set to low, and that your screen resolution is set appropriately.

Set screen complexity to 150000

Set view distance to 1000

Set object view distance to 800

Look it up.

the problem is that you are trying to run it on a four year old laptop that wasn't that great for games anyway, I know because I've got one.

honestly, you need to upgrade, when making a game the devlopers have to find a middle ground between what they want the game to be and what they want it to run on, and for DayZ it would hardly be unreasonable to put your laptop down at the bottom of the barrel as far as requirements go.

Man I need a new PC.

My cpu is only 2.3ghz :(

It's quad core but still lacking.

I get 15fps in cherno and 20 to 30 in the forest and fields.

Throw that CPU out if you're only playing DayZ!

DayZ only runs on a single core, so an i3 clocked to 6 GHz is way better than an i7 or i5.

A macbook? no, just no.

You don't need a top notch pc to play dayz, far from it. But a macbook from 2010 ... which never was inteded to be made for gaming anyways is just plain wrong.

This is almost how the game works anyway, your Macbook just isn't powerful enough to run the game well unfortunately.

Currently there is a 'bubble' around the player and you do not receive information from anything outside of the bubble.

The problem you have, is that you dont understand how the game works. Games no longer need 'zones' to be efficient. The game loads in whatever is around you at a distance of somewhere near 1.5km. If something new changes it gets added in as you go. If you leave an area the game loads where you are going and forgets where you have been. So even if they divided it up your computer would still suffer.

Dont get me wrong I love my Mac. But unless your buying one for about $8,000 for professional video editing/cg, or a 1,200 mac book air for general/academic use, there is really no point to have one over a $900 pc.

You dont need to upgrade based on what you just posted. You need to wait for them to finish the game :P
