crazykage 1063 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) a very simple fix for this problem is the implementation of a server restart countdown timer for all servers, public and private. -Notifies all players that its time to get to a safe logout position, and not to place any important items on the ground (backpacks, weapons, ammo cans, etc) for the risk of losing them. -Allows admins to continue to be able to restart their servers, but prevents abuse. Server admins that restart their servers do so after initiating a 10-15 minute countdown (which is announced to all players), that once started cannot be aborted (this would prevent server admins from using the countdown to scare off players into quitting the server, only to abort it at the last second). Admins are allowed to shut down servers and initiate hive rollbacks to undo damage caused by hackers. Well, at least its part of why. The devs are well aware of the hives being rolled back. Admins maintain this privilege as the only anti-hacking measure they have. The devs could just as easily stop hive rollbacks from happening altogether, but they made it this way on purpose. This brings me back to that sentence that I keep going on about that I'm tired or posting, which a lot of people seem to be having trouble fully comprehending. It's on the top of the original post if you care to read again. I'd be happy to explain anything not understood. Wow. The bullshit never ceases does it? Listen up boys and girls. Don't believe everything you read on teh internets. Especially in the DayZ forums. ^_^Never in all my years of running servers have I seen a forum spew so much blatantly made-up rhetoric presented as fact. Though I must admit, its not exclusive to this thread. Some clueless admin wannabe posts something and some clueless forum goers latch onto it as fact. Admin abuse happening? Sure. Exploits and cheating going on? Sure. ispecter 55 Posted February 27, 2014 I'm sure you've been in game and suddenly disconnected for no reason, that is due to the admin team force stopping the server after they die so they get their gear back. Yesterday my best friend and I where in a fight in electro we killed one of the bandit squad members right after not more then 10 seconds the server was manually restarted. The dev team implements pointless login timers that really have no point at all but a lot admins to input scrips and abuse server renting privileges without any over sight from the dev team. There's really no good way of reporting this. Servers make up there own bull shit rules. Some servers claim to have night vision admins and other OP cheats.
