Reasons why Horses, Dogs, Wolves and Bears are NEEDED

Recommended Posts

Personally, I'd rather just assume that all of the horses have been eaten. I don't want horses at all; they seem like such a waste of time. I'm all for predatory animals, though. There should be some penalty for hiking through the woods and avoiding main roads. Armed with the knowledge that by avoiding said main roads in an attempt to avoid zombies and other players, you run the risk of running into a pack of hungry wolves or a bear actually makes sense. This game is all about risks. Running through the forest with a compass poses absolutely no risk right now.

the kind that care about riding horses in a zombie game.

any legitimate reasons why this should be in the game?

this is not an mmo. it's not a crafting game. it's not a hunting sim.

if it trieds to be all three of those it's going to fail at what it's supposed to be.

a zombie game.

it's what, 6 or 12 people making this game? you want them to spend time on this crap?

i'd like a beta before the next decade.

again, "you don't have to ride a horse" isn't a reason why it should be a feature of the game that the engine is spending resources on.

this is not a zombie game. its a survival game that happens to be set in a zombie apocolypse.

I agree with OP to an extent. Im definatly not saying dont put them in, but i think zombie count would be priority as far as server load is concerned.

My thoughts would be as follows ( remember just talkin server load)

1. Get zombie count up (yes they are broke and will be fixed in due time, but again just server load here)

2. Add in persistent storage objects (tents, backpacks, or whatever else)

3. Hunting (Game animals like the MOD)

4. Basic crafting (bow/arrows, spears, backpacks, etc)

5. Maybe vehicles

6. Barricading buildings

7. then if servers can still handle things, add in the companions, preditory animals, more detailed crafting, and other extras ONLY after the core elements are in gameand the servers can still handle the load.

Again this is just my 2 cents. I dont have a problem with them putting in whatever they want, I just dont want them to get carried away to quickly. What would you rather have? Roaming zombie hoards or stray dogs to tame? Both would be ideal but servers can only hold so much. Stuff it full sure, but how much is gonna be full?

and lets be honest with ourselves here. We all can make an argument for horses or whatever (GO Unicycle!!!) if we wanted, but who thinks horses right after you think survival or dayZ

Give me Horses or give me death.

I've been asking for them for about 6 months before SA release.

So much can be done with a horse - Cover, Food, Transport, Storage, ect..

Who says we are shipwreck survivor new to the country? I was born and raised in Elektrozavodsk and I used to go over to Mogilevka to visit my girlfriend.

And about the predators...there are animals in real life you know and they'd try to survive as well...

Predictor animals need to be added, the forests in dayz are too safe.. The majority of ears should be located up north. The costal areas should be safer. I'd like to see deer added, not stupid ai deer. If the deer hears you then jet off. Wolves should be added in packs of 3-4
