DayZ Tip: Use Garry's Mod's 'Legacy Browser' to Browse Through Server History

I think everyone would like to see the last server they joined by viewing the history tab. Unfortunately that isn't possible as it doesn't tell you when you last joined it. Fortunately, you can use Garry's Mod's 'Legacy Browser' in the 'Find Multiplayer Game' menu. Just sort the servers so it's in ascending order on 'Last Played'.

Then right click on the latest DayZ server (the one closest to the top, or whenever you joined it just look at the date and time) and press 'View Server Info'.

Copy the IP address then use the 'Remote' tab in DayZ's server browser to remotely connect to it. Remember to put the 4 numbers after the colon in the 'Port' box. So if the IP was 212.38.163.67:2602 (Like in the screenshot above) You would put it in like this:

I hope this helps, and hopefully Rocket will implement a system where it tells you when you last played on a certain server. :P

You can find the Legacy Browser on pretty much any Valve game with multiplayer. Not sure about Dota because i don't play it, but I know theres one of Counter Strike and Half Life.

I picked Garry's Mod because everyone has it

Great, totally useless if people don't have Garry's mod.

 

That seemed like an unnecessarily abrasive post. The title explained exactly what the the process was before you even got in here, so why make such an obvious, bullheaded statement?

 

Also it's been like, 2 dollars for a vast majority of the past few years and has provided hundreds upon hundreds of hours of fun for most people. Just... just get it. Build a contraption or play gamemodes... just... just get it.

It's not the nicest attitude, but neither is the latent "you're wrong if you don't own this software."
