ForsakenSpirit (DayZ) 69 Posted February 19, 2014 Story: My group and I logged in at Solnichniy in the interest of helping fresh spawns when we ran into a 8 player clan on the server. There was six of us at Solnichniy while four other members from our group came into Solnichniy after the fighting began. The fight lasted 45 minutes and is splint into three videos. Each side lost lots of people and then respawned near by. Fresh spawns, the other clan and our clan were all respawning near by and continuing the fight. We ended up winning in the end with lots of casualties, one of which was friendly fire by me. I ended up killing about 9 people included the friendly fire but one other member from our side and I survived without scratch. This was recorded using Shadowplay on a GTX 680. Enjoy!
Knock (DayZ) 111 Posted February 19, 2014 Wow. I watched all of that. I like the fact that you stayed alive the whole time too, makes it a little easier to get immersed in the video. The only part I didn't like was that your friends and the other clan members just ran back to their bodies whenever possible. It takes away from the experience and it almost feels no different then when you respawn in a normal FPS after a few seconds. But yeah, kinda felt like you were a main character in TWD since you stayed alive. That was pretty cool.

Yeah I am pretty attached to my guy here since I have survived a few firefights now with him.

bobda 11 Posted February 20, 2014 Awesome video man. Everyone else is freaking out while you're super chill, taking your time, and capping mofos when the opportunity presents itself. The friendly fire wasn't your fault. You asked who that was multiple times and I didn't hear a response until you already shot him.

sabaka (DayZ) 70 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) lol @ magic periscope constantly looking around corners or trees and over walls and brush. This might have been intense on a 1pp server. edit: from 12:29 in the second video you completely destroy the intensity of the experience by being able to watch everything and remain invisible. Think of how scary that would have been if you had to crouch to see. Edited February 20, 2014 by sabaka

dethsupport 110 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) I enjoyed watching all three videos, but it was kind of annoying to hear that one person who died immediately at the start trying to bark orders at you telling you to mow down the freshies in the second video. He didn't seem to understand that you were still alive for a very good reason and without being able to see your observations was intent that you just blow your concealment and CoD them. Had that been my squadmate I would have told him to stfu over the comm and only send useful information over the radio (though if I'm not mistaken during the third video one of your squadmates told him to shut up as he kept saying "get guns, go to warehouse we don't have time for this shit"). There was also a point where he told someone to give him their SKS so he could kill the little shits but he was the first one down and seemed to panic for the entire fight. You on the other hand kept a level head and always seemed one pace ahead of your enemies, very well done. I was a little disappointed to see/hear everyone just sprinting back for their bodies, seemed to make it more like a cookie cutter FPS where you just respawn with your gear, it also caused a ridiculous amount of excess radio chatter making it very confusing - if you're dead and gone stay out of the fight. As soon as the dead players started to run back it made it more chaotic and It took a rather long time to coordinate the whole naked fresh spawn thing, its a pretty easy way to distinguish friendlies... unless the enemy does the same thing. I remember seeing people use female characters for that specific purpose though since their underwear is an obvious pattern and very few people who play actually play/are females. You played well and I'm happy you survived the fight. I'd give you a few boxes of 762x39mm for your weapon if I could, sadly I can only give you my beans - hope they taste like victory. EDIT - I forgot to mention you had the intention to help fresh spawns but once shit hit the fan all bets were off and fresh spawns were getting gunned down with prejudice. DayZ can turn the kindest of hearts into one filled with blood lust and paranoia. Not knocking you for that, simply admiring what this game can do to people - this is what DayZ is all about. Human nature should be both admired and feared. Most animals have violent tendencies and adding intelligence into the mix only makes things more interesting and dangerous, even for those not involved. Everyday we are working on ways to get better organized and to limit the useless information. I do wish this fight wasn't on the coast because of the people running for their gear. Thanks for the beans and I am glad you enjoyed the long videos :)
