DiviusJulius 0 Posted February 19, 2014 So far DAYZ is about survival, and there are many things that can make survival difficult. As I understand, your survivor needs to eat and drink to remain healthy. Finding food and water is important if your survivor is to stay energized and hydrated. Since this game is very realistic and the goal is to survive as long as possible and meet friends/enemies along the way, it would be important to have some type of psychological effects if you are malnourished, or dehydrated. In real life, a person can become delusional if they fail to eat and drink for a period of time. It would only make sense that a person who is malnourished or dehydrated to experience hallucinations, blurred vision, slow movement or restriction to walking only, illness that saps your energy, or something of the like. It would also be nice to see way to rest or recover from injury over time other than staying hydrated and energized. A few examples of what I think: Hallucinations: Seeing a person/zombie that isn't really there. For instance you look in a direction and see a person/zombie, you shoot at it and nothing happens, you look in a different direction and then its gone. Blurred vision: Restricted Line of sight if you are suffering from malnutrition (low blood sugar). Slowed movement: If you become dehydrated you move slower and are more vulnerable to attack; it would be wise to drink often because in real life you can die after a couple days without water. (I understand it's a pain in the rear to get from A to B as it is). Illness: Perhaps the common cold or a stomach bug that makes you less resistant to incoming damage and possibly cause one of the latter disabilities. Please leave a comment below with what you think? Nicko2580 398 Posted February 19, 2014 Still, all of these aside from hallucinations are better ideas than in the other thread. They're not really psychological though, lol. Blurred vision, lethargy and illness are all physiological effects caused by lack of food/water and I hope to see them implemented in some form. I don't think hallucinations are really needed though.I believe the devs will tweak water/food consumption at some point. It's far too easy to get hydrated and energized and stay like that forever at the moment, even after sprinting flat out for 100kms. That will change eventually. super_shadow 26 Posted February 19, 2014 Not sure about psychologival problems of characters... think some PC users already got those own :)But I vote for illness (physical). And visual signs of it. And I want the character, if got cold, to cough, so all zombies and players can hear him.
