Gugolas 228 Posted February 18, 2014 DayZ is making DayZ run slowly.
cywehner1234 582 Posted February 18, 2014 Laptop.lel. Your graphics card is defenitely not the best, but its not terrible either. You run 30 fps at 1366 x 768, on crysis warhead. I do not believe that your graphics card is really up to par. Consider getting a new graphics card.
rick1234 0 Posted February 18, 2014 Believe me it isnt the game lol, its not like im stuttering about everywhere just feels like everythings moving in slow motion...so you think new graphics card would do the trick?
Estevacio 62 Posted February 18, 2014 have you also tried lowering resolution both in game and appearance??
cywehner1234 582 Posted February 18, 2014 Yeah I would assume. I run crysis 1, warhead, & crysis 2 50+ FPS and still lag and get 50+ fps in wiliderness 30+ in cities. This game needs some optimization. So if you really want to play, buy a new one. If you want to wait for optimization, you could do so. No assuring that it will be enough to make your comp run it. Estevacio 62 Posted February 18, 2014 Erm no, im abit of a noob lol how do i go about doing this? np man, should be on vídeo settings, if it's set too high(for example 1920x860) set it lower might help to boost a bit the fps if not, try to update to latest drivers(if more available) if all fail, go for Asoix advice, either wait for optimization(which will come much later) or go for a new card(which in your computer would not be a bad option, you have a decente rig but loosing its potential on GPU)

MetapoliC 263 Posted February 18, 2014 You need a good graphic card and patience... Because the game needs to be optimized, doesn't rly matter how good your PC may be, it will still lag. Your Intel HD 4000 is one of the worst graphic adapters you can have, change it to a good one, you will see a big difference but as I said - it will still lag :)
muddyraccoon 176 Posted February 18, 2014 Search for the post on lowering FPS. It gives you step-by-step instructions, and some of the comments post links to other sources of good info. I did that until I bought a new graphics card. Now I watch real sunsets and wish I could enhance the bloom to make it look prettier like in videogames. Kellrush (DayZ) 53 Posted February 19, 2014 follow this guide. i was running at 15 fps for the longest time. followed this guys guide. BAM running 50+ fps and everything looks great. and my pc is not much better than what you have
rick1234 0 Posted February 19, 2014 Ok chaps thanks for the help, lowering the resolution has already helped no end, il give that guide a watch when i get home too :)Just remember if you ever see me wandering along in the zombie filled land, dont shoot me cause im most likely lagging lol
agentneo 337 Posted February 19, 2014 change GPU max frames ahead and render frames ahead to 1 in user configChange video memory to autoChange Anti analising to Low or OffAmbient occlusion OffShadows off for more boost if u want Use Steam Launch parameters. I use cpucount=4 and maxthreads=
-MadTommy 367 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) ...so you think new graphics card would do the trick? No.. CPU is very important for the Arma engine. And unfortunately yours is decidedly pedestrian. Personally i think your laptop is not worth spending any money on in order to get good performance in Dayz. Much better to put the money towards something that can actually give the performance you want over the next few years. Best bang for you buck is a home built desktop. ld-airgrafix 403 Posted February 19, 2014 Have the same laptop as you, the only issue i have is zooming in, it feels very slow, zooming out snaps back quick.
jasher11 67 Posted February 19, 2014 the issue is with the GPU, the CPU itself is good its an i5 even though its a laptop i5 its good. HOWEVER the fact that the GPU is intergrated means all the rendering and processing is being done on the CPU effectively.so drop all the settings and follow all the guides about reducing render distance and so on, good luck
