bobotype3334 160 Posted February 17, 2014 This thread contains alot of pictures, if you have slow internet or do not wish to view a page this long, return now. Otherwise, you may continue. Car MinigamesWhich would essentially mean, you have to interact with your car, examine it, check for leaks etc. to be able to drive it safely without driving of the road without a warning. No thank you. Too lighthearted, doesn't really add that much to the gameplay for the effort it would take to put in, and nobody would appreciate having to go through the motions every time they want to do something. Rather, it seems to be an unnecessary annoyance. As for the lockpicking, zooming up on your character picking the lock is as deep as it needs to go.
basinox 300 Posted February 17, 2014 "Because you need to open a seperate window for the minigame."Do you know what Mechanic Simulator 2014 is? Look it up. Everything is ingame, nothing is in a seperate window."And the skyrim/fallout lock pick system is extremely unrealistic."Could you suggest a better one?Obliviom style lockpick where you can't look inside the lock to see what you are doing. This one was actaully pretty realistic (and hard as balls)Also can you quit the sass? Its bad for discussions.

minime1000 78 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) It doesn't fit the game because you have to open a separate window for the minigame and the skyrim/falllout lock pick system is extremely unrealistic. You have to open a "separate window" to open your inventory. Guess we should get rid of that too. Edited February 17, 2014 by myshl0ng

TEST_SUBJECT_83 465 Posted February 17, 2014 Only mini game that would fit DayZ IMO is Russian roulette with a magnum.

I never bother with lock picks in Skyrim because I can pick any level lock from the start of the game without breaking a pick if I concentrate. There's a trick to it that makes it very simple. Oblivion is even simpler. I literally can pick every lock in the game with the first lock pick you find in that game. Oblivion you have to bounce the pins into the right position. Skyrim you have to rotate the lockpick to the correct position.

Lumeria 27 Posted February 18, 2014 I don't like the idea of mini games for Dayz, at least most of those suggested here. A mechanic mini game would in my opinion just be an annoyance to do. If you want more in depth car mechanics the. You should play a game suited for I like the one you showed in your pictures. While fixing cars should not be easy, it should not be an annoyance either, at least more then it need so be.A lock picking mini game is something which is much more viable but if not implemented which again be an annoyance and a chore. I think something like berry picking would be better instead of a mini game. Just like berries, which you may pick or not locks should be similar, you either pick it or not.I don't disagree with a fishing mini game as it can be fairly boring of you just stand there waiting for a fish. But again I has to not be a chore or else people will be turned off of fishing.
Martmital 436 Posted February 18, 2014 Fishing, football (seeing as we have football pitches) and golf... all that is needed!

bobotype3334 160 Posted February 18, 2014 Small minigames to make mundane, repeatable tasks more fun would be great. No, it would make mundane repeat tasks much longer. Just no. What, do you want a "drink from the pipe" minigame every time you lean down to pump water? Of course you don't.Russian roulette does sound really cool though. combatcomm1 234 Posted February 18, 2014 Great concept but you guys are forgetting this is the RV engine and Bohemia doesnt put out polished games. Lets dream a little more in the scope of possibility.

gregor (DayZ) 95 Posted February 18, 2014 Possibility to play cards, maybe also flying disc games (i've heard about existence of Fight Club), gathering of mushrooms (very rare truffles). As here was mentioned, lockpicking. Example - the safe, not more than one per server (but always exist possibility, that less). In random places. You need to find it, and after that to find the proper tools to open it without damaging contents.Though is hard to imagine what it might be, that would be interesting and at the same time do not interfere the game. A Radio-scanner, golden Desert Eagle, crown of Miss Cherno for GF or what?
mgc 92 Posted February 18, 2014 How about putting items in game that allow for games to be created by the players, rather than the devs. i.e.DartzZ-DiscusBambi / Bandit Bowling And my personal favorite;KoS golf. A headshot should knock the KoS'er unconscious. For semi-pro KoS golfers it is recommended to handcuff the KoS'erand break 1 or both legs before playing the hole. (maybe pun intended)Survive playing 18 holes on pro level on the same character to attain Legend status.
