Where is all of the food?!

I died, spawned, and hit every house that I saw. Big cities, small cities, random outlets from literally the south to the north. Only one single house had food and i starved to death by the time I reached an airstrip. There wasn't a shortage of motorcycle helmets, pants, beanies, and rotten fruit though. Im all for resource gathering being challenging, but its a bit rediculous that after probably an hour (what seemed like 5) of non-stop running, hitting easily over 100 buildings of all kinds, you only find can of spaghetti. Damn, too bad the only weapon I came across was a baseball bat. I could have prolonged by starvation by a few minutes.

 

Off topic but not so much...Do sodas help with hunger? I know when i drink a lot of soda, I get full. I tried drinking the sodas that I found thinking that it couldnt hurt, but it did not make a noticable differnce.

 

 

Point of my post: Is there a location in DayZ where food is abundant? Are differnent Items found more frequently in one part of the map than the other?

Welcome to Server HoppingZ.  My only advice is if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.  Ya it's a little ridiculous right now but they are working on item and gear spawns and I feel your pain.  It's starting to get really stupid trying to play legit and no matter what server you pick, they all appear empty.  Just gonna have to wait until they fix this.

Sodas help hunger because your hunger is measured in calories, not how full your stomach is.

 

Good places to find food, grocery stores & schools. But as soon as a server restarts people are racing to these spots to find food and ammo.

Get off the coast, ASAP.

 

Also as a new spawn it usually helps to start in a low population server. Maybe that's considered cheating or whatever but honestly I don't have time to run half way across the map only to die of starvation. Usually I'll make one quick loot run across a low population server, then jump into a near full server.

In my home zone, i PASS BY enough food in a single hour to feed every player on the server twice over!

Look for a house with yellow and blue paint that has a partial log cabin exterior (not the ones that are all log cabin - they are worthless). I've found as many as six or eight food items in the kitchens. They don't all have that much but a lot of them I've seen recently have been loaded. 

 

Some of the buildings are spawning loot under the floors but a bug report has been filed and it should be fixed eventually.

1) Put your back to the ocean.

 

2) Hold W.

 

3) Find a water source fill to lime green.

 

4) Continue holding W.

 

5) After 45 minutes open buildings to find loot.

Indeed, I find so much food that I end up having to drop some. You just gotta know which houses to loot and get off the coast. And no, you don't have to server hop, don't listen to the lazy players.
