How do I avoid hackers?

So, every time I go to an empty or semi empty server someone inevitably joins the game, teleports behind me, and shoots me in the back. If I join a full server basically the same thing happens. Is there a way I can avoid getting killed by a hacker every couple of hours or so?

so is it really possible that a person can teleport to your location on the map? I've always just assumed when I join an empty server, and sometimes there are like 40 of them, that they join for the sole purpose of hunting me else they would join another empty server. however I've only been caught like that once. dunno if he teleported or not but its not like I was really hiding - there was really no one on the server but us. oh I did start watching my back a little closer after that.
