Nope there's plenty enough if you head inland and look in places others haven't been to. I think we'll see less food spawning as the game progresses. ;)

Your problem will most likely go away when loot starts to spawn dynamically.

 

For now, try not to stay at the coast but make your way inside Chernarus right at the beginning. Find a smaller village and you will be more likely to find lots of food.

what about adding a cannibalism option to the game?

if eaten rare you can get sick. if you use the cooking pot, the chance to get sick will be reduced.
