Rainbows in Chernarus?!?!

Recommended Posts

So I have been wondering about this since the rain update. I love the rain and the thunder and lightning. I was playing in a daytime server this evening and was running into Berezino from the south during a rain shower, when I spotted this.

I was super excited to see this (I have a love for all types of weather phenomenon). I am hoping maybe they can make it a little brighter and more distinguished. I am in no way complaining or asking the devs to work full time on rainbows. It's just a curiosity and it really adds to the natural feel of the game.

I was also wondering if anyone else has spotted any rainbows in Chernarus?

Here are some shots I took of a double rainbow last year outside my front door. Just for reference. ;)

This is an untouched image.

Have you ever seen a full double rainbow?

It is very faint. But it does appear to be a rainbow. It starts at the barn and arches up to the right.

I have noticed this as well, op. Good job spotting this

Jum, its VERY faint. You can barely see it in game.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?

I'm really sorry to those unable to see the rainbow in the game shot. It is really faint. If I hadn't been trying to spot one since the rain was introduced I probably wouldn't have seen it either. I actually found some shots of a super rare rainbow that I took probably 6-7 years ago that I thought was really cool. I would like to see any in-game images others might be able to capture. I'm curious as to whether or not they get any brighter as this one seems to be pretty damn far away. Please feel free to post any RL shots you've got also but please only images of rainbows you've taken. Not looking for a bunch a random rainbow images plz/thx.

I dubbed this the "HaloBow"

This is awesome, nice find.  And also lol at all prior, and future references to "DOUBLE RAINBOW, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN" video / guy.

It's a bit difficult to spot, but I can see it going into the little farm. Between the crane and tower sorta...

Also, these were in mod version as well...

@ Rhodes

Looks like the mod had some legit rainbows. The one in your image is almost as bright as the one in my RL image.

I'd like ambient rainbow visuals when its raining and the sun is out still and not covered. It would give an astonishing  aura to the land.

Holy crap, that's awesome.

Definitely should be more visible though, IMO.

Have yet to notice one. That's so damned faint I don't think I'd see it if it were right in front of me in game.

I believe the rainbows , along with the thunder and lightning (yes there was lightning and thunder in this game and it was balling) were removed to help performance some time ago , but that's just a guess from my experience as in my first 500 hours I've seen many rainbows, thunder and lightning , but in the last 1,000 I have yet to see any of the above :(! Bring back rainbows , thunder , and lightning !! I will make a thread of this and try and collect images If I have any of the removed weather phenomenon ...
