My wife was almost in tears tonight in a stand-off near Balota. We were pinned down in one of the jails on the airstrip. I was watching the windows so I asked her to cover the door. We got her set up and in position and all was well. That is, until the first guy burst through the door. Like a little trooper she dropped him with a barrage of FNX fire. I ran to her and closed the door while congratulating her (she sits beside me). Her exact words? "Oh my gawd Tim, I can't fucking take this shit!" She then had a miniature panic attack and had to log off.

I love her so much. <3

I don't know if it's cultural or physiological, but it seems that wemyn can't handle adrenaline as well as men... come to think of it... Oh snap! Testosterone... THAT motherfucker builds up our tolerance to adrenaline... and cuts our lives about 15 years shorter on average than wemyn...

Every once in a while you hear a flock of birds fly by you and I nearly shit my pants every time because it sounds like someone is firing an M4 nearby.

How to deal with stress and stay cool under fire?

Remember its a game. Death, though potentially painful, is temporary.

You could also try to play the character as if he has nerves of steel. Detatch yourself from the character and know you, the player, are never in danger. (except perhaps in the form of a small panicattack from longterm exposure to percieved danger.)
