More Effective, Less Frustrating, Hopper/Logger Solution

Nah I'm thinking way out in the middle of nowhere, as in its going to take you a long time to even get to a small town.

Spawn in the debug plains.  Get rid of their compass too!

Here is my suggestion with regards to server hopping.

Collate data to work out how many times is reasonable for a legitimate player to change servers in a row within a certain time period (lets say 20 mins). I'd say in the worst case scenario a legit player would only change servers 2 times before getting to one that they could play on.

Make it so that anyone who hops servers more than that given number within 20 mins of joining their last server should have their character wiped.

Or if that is too harsh, same system but rather than a char wipe, they get spawned in the middle of nowhere, and continue to get spawned there every subsequent server hop.

How about that? ;)

I have yet to hear your response to my detailed explanation I wrote just for you.

Why would you want to switch servers more than once every hour, unless you were hopping for loot?

Anyway, taking the "log out = sleep" idea to its logical conclusion, each character should have an awake/tired meter (similar to hunger/thirst) - so if you aren't tired, you CANNOT go to sleep and therefore cannot log off!

They tried adding the tired status the first week the game came out

this is what happened XD:

It's either that, or beyond a certain number of hops the next server the connect to instantly transfers them to a punishment server that has no loot at all and ruins everything in their backpack in the process.

Any subsequent attempt to hop will bring them back to the same server.

I would suggest that you make it a habit of joining official servers near your country rather than clan servers that may be incorrectly configured, or badly managed.

Thanks Mom.  I'll remember that next time our usual server is down and I join on my friends through Steam.

That's why I made this thread to begin with. It isn't stopping people from server hopping. Then I got crucified, mostly by you, for being honest about my own server hopping. Thanks for contributing.

So when murderers confess to murder, we should be so much more lenient with them

Not our fault you were dumb enough to tell a community of anti-server hopping religous zealots that you server hop. You dug your own grave there buddy lol

oh and you suck for blatantly server hopping btw :D
