chernarus is boring?

Recommended Posts

well, its boring to me. i played on chernarus for 4 - 5 years (played it on arma before dayz) and its getting annoying. i hoped that they will add realism to chernarus+ and we will get different terrains (huge swamps, deep forests, realistic mountain areas and more...) so players could decide to live and learn one area or go to epic adventures on different areas. its even more realistic than chernaus+ because we have nothing in chernarus+. we dont even have forests.

if dean will add one more town we will just have one huge **** urban area named chernarus.

in real chernarus (somewhere in czech republic) they have deep forests, swamps, lakes... beautiful terrain. chernarus+ feels like copy - paste.

what i hate the most in chernarus is that instead of realism we have just small town, few trees and fields - repeat.

even the big cities are small. at least in the mod we had one big forest... and it's gone.

i would love to walk about an hour in a huge swamp (cant run in swamps) and then climb some mountains with expidition just to get to our base. this will make the map more alive and players will feel that the map is much much bigger, but they were too lazy to do it.

sorry for my grammar.

I think they should make Dayz on Endor and crazed Ewoks would groan at you, chase you around and try to bite your knee caps.

Um...realism? In Chernarus? You know that Chernaraus was made from satellite images of a real place, right? So real, in fact, that some of the devs actually went there and posted real pics of the place a few onths ago on the blog.

im just wrote my opinion that dean was too lazy to really improv the map and that that he could make the map really good, and you guys just insulting me.

so its true, dayz community is destroyed. i miss the first year, when people in dayz community were awesome.

Sort of agree with OP.

When they first mentioned the map would be bigger I allways imagined it would be big enough to have hundreds of people on the same server and still have a hard time meeting other players. And motivation to spread over the map rather than all cluster at the same place (coast).

Right now its just the same as the mod, 99% of the map is empty and every single player is on or around the coast.

There's a mountainous expanse to the north east.

There's swamps to the south.

Deep forests scattered around.
We don't even have forests?

If you want to be hopefull, now that it's a standalone, there'll surely be DLC to expand upon what you really want that cannot be accomplished with chernarus. Maybe a DayZ DLC idea/request thread instead of this unproductive thread?

well im posting that because i know that chernarus is actually based on satelite picutres. the problem is that chernarus is different than the real pictures. maybe only 20% or less of it looks like the real place

few trees, 10 meters distance from tree to tree.

its a field with some trees in it.

not deep forest.

and how can you call these small puddles of rainwater ''swamps''?

In a sense I agree, but I think its a mixture of the map and the gameplay.

I've played the shit out of the mod and the standalone so Chernarus isn't exciting for me. It doesn't help that there is not much to do other than hike around the map at the moment.

I miss the feeling of being totally lost that I had when I first played and I really cannot wait for the community to introduce new maps so I can rekindle that feeling.

I totally understand why the devs decided not to create a new map however, and I don't expect it of them.

/facepalm You know there are going to be more maps, right? They are focusing on Chernarus because that's what people know, that's where the game started. they're adding more stuff inland and in the northern areas, as they have already done twice. The coast is where most people have always been since mod, so it was the logical place to start. You think they're just going to leave a bunch of empty towns and be done just utilizing the coast? I've seen plenty of varied terrain exploring inland. You got forest and hills and mountains and fields and bases and tons of towns if you'd bother looking around. Hidden landmarks, a frakkin castle, and a shipwreck. They don't have time to build a new map right now. Let them get the meat and the potatoes of the game finished before they have to start trying to implement things into a new map. Friggin babies, geez....why do people complain that an unfinished game isn't finished.....
