zainredding 1 Posted February 12, 2014 This is my exact problem. I have not tested this after today's patch but it has been going on for 3 weeks or so. I log in to a yellow or red chain and can't interact with anything. It goes away and i am good for a minute or two and then I get a broken yellow chain or a red chain for a couple minutes and I cant interact with anything. My inventory , doors or lot on the ground. I can still move around though. One time my friend was logged on and he could see me opening doors and closing them but they did not open or close on my screen and till I got connection again. My friend would stand frozen on one spot on my screen but he would be walking around doing stuff. Very frustrating please help.

watermouse 0 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) All, I am having this same exact issue.Unfortunately it makes it completely unplayable.I am new to DayZ(Standalone and Mod) What it doesEvery 30 seconds(sometimes shorter/longer) the game will freezeAfter freeze your character will sometimes teleport several yards in front of where you were movingThis happens either when looking around or moving, checking inventory and also when changing settings on the in-game menu optionsIssue does not occur on the main menu of the game, only once you are in-gameUnfortunately makes it unplayable Things I have doneI checked online and seen a bunch of things to try out, such as the steam tweaks(adding the -no### stuff)I also seen where you could modify part of the DayZ.cfg file to help out.I have set everything in the video options to either disabled or very lowI have my video rendering at 100%(but also tried the lowest and I get the same freezing.)I have updated my graphics and network drivers(I have actually uninstalled them and installed drivers a few version back as well)Network speed is 50MBpsGraphics Card is HD7570(I have even tried with the fan at 100% incase of wierd heat issues, didnt matter)8GB RAM - Windows 7 - 64bitI tried several other graphics intensive games and get no such lag/freezing issues. Like others, any assistance would be very helpful. I understand this is alpha and I have played many to understand there will be problems, just anxious to try this out after watching some videos on how epic a game it is. Thank you and I appreciate your time reading and looking into this-Watermouse Edited February 16, 2014 by watermouse
savini 587 Posted February 16, 2014 It seems a lot of people are still having this issue. Including myself. I decided to login to experimental and the good news is that the stuttering is not as bad as I get in the current stable branch. The bad news is, there is still some stuttering going on. There are a few quick fixes around the forum, but I think the best bet would be to wait for the bugs to get ironed out. I know it sucks, but it's the safest option that doesn't involve messing with game files are cpu priorities. That's just me though. If you want to you can search for 'fps fix' or 'memory leak' or something along those lines and you should find a few posts related to the quick fixes. Good luck. watermouse 0 Posted February 16, 2014 So, I am not sure why I didn't try this last night. Maybe it was a bit to late and wasn't thinking correctly.I have Zone-Alarm and I decided to close it out completely so it was no longer running on my system. When I logged in this morning, I had no freezing at all. If you have Zone-Alarm - RIght-click on the program and exit completely. Worked for me, hope it does you too.

John_Menhauzen 0 Posted February 16, 2014 Zone-Alarm is a firewall/anti-virus programso i need to disable it?
watermouse 0 Posted February 16, 2014 If you have zone-alarm installed, go down by your clock in your taskbar.Look for the Zone-Alarm icon and right-click on it and select Exit. This will disable and close zone-alarm. If you dont have zone-alarm, i would still close and exit whatever anti-virus/firewall program you have and try to play again.
