Do you feel the same when you start playing hardcore that you can't go back to regural? Only for fun or relax? I feel like this. I stucked to hardcore :)

Yeah. You don't wanna miss 1st person and you don't want to have other people use the 3rdP exploiting while you are in 1pv.

I don't even want to play on regular for fun or relax.

 

Also real men play on 1pp. Only noobs and glitchers play 3pp.

I only play in first person view on both regular and hardcore.  I play on the regular servers with friends and solo on the hardcore servers.

I play both regularly.  They are different styles.  Hardcore isn't any harder, it can actually be much easier, which is relaxing.

 

I move around a lot.  I don't sit and snipe.  That makes Hardcore a much better experience because I can confidently make my way out of the woods knowing I will see the person shooting at me when they shoot as opposed to 3PP where you need to be aware of the walls people might be hiding behind.

 

I like having two separate characters too, makes it much easier to just enjoy myself.  But come on guys, lets not give each other the Silver Star for playing Hardcore.  It isn't any harder than regular.

Played only hardcore for a while now.

 

Only went back to regular to play with friends. 3rd-Person-View is nice to play and run around with, looks good and everything. But I don't like the exploit-iness to it.

 

Hardcore for "single play". Regular is fine to play with buddies.

So which ever character is doing better than the other ends up seeking out a reckless, but ultimately loud and satisfying death so I can start over.

I do prefer hardcore though. It's scarier. I always feel like I'm being snuck up on.

yeah it has its tension never been startled by a zed in 3pp ( yeah sometimes i play 3pp with friends who will only play 3pp) and paranoia lol i never use a mountain back pack in hardcore because i cant see behind me .....

Been playing mostly regular these past few days because of the memory leak. My regular hive character is mainly a guinea pig, so I don't care if he dies from being teleported into a zombie or wall or something like that, and the low fps has indeed been that bad at times recently.

 

But as soon as they fix the memory leak I will be right back to my hardcore hive character.

Well yes it would be hard to remove the safety blanket that is "hardcore" mode :P

 

If you really want a challenge, play 3pp servers exclusively in 1st.....now that's hardcore mode :)

 

All it is now is safe harbour for those that feel they have been peeked on too much lol

PS I play both, because friends are split over both, nothing against those who prefer hardcore but I do think the "harder" part is a bit of a delusion. I feel much, much safer on a hardcore server than a 3pp one :)

I think your feeling of safety may be the delusion. You need to be much more aware in 1pp than in 3pp, because you don't have 360 degrees sight anymore, and thus is much more exposed to somebody sneaking up on you if you do not constantly check all directions or make sure to move so your back is covered.

 

Peaking around corners or from behind covers now also requires the player to actually expose themselves.

LOL when/ if they add helicopters go land one in first person and then land one in third and talk to me about which is more difficult or baking a car in first person. Ill never change your opinion i am sure but that worries me little the widely accepted belief by players the devs and BIS in general is first person is harder..

 

Why am i so sure they think this well um 3pp is called regular first person is called hardcore play any arma game and when you choose the higher difficulty levels what happens oh you get locked to first person these are not opinions sorry there um FACTS try them in your arma games..

On hardcore servers I went to this new city Svetloyarsk without fear and  explored it.

 

Never been there on regular becouse I fear the 3pp camera exploiters camping roofs etc.

No doubt it makes a level playing field we all have the same view ( give or take depending on FOV) 3pp allows looking over walls etc sure anyone can do it but the guy camping doing it has the advantage over the guy moving around.. 1pp if he can see you ,you can see him..

 

Oh of note anyone who watched rocket play his marathon stream over the weekend ( despite him seeming not that skilled sorry rocket ) must be TRUE HARDCORE as he played the whole time in first person and wasnt till his controls stuffed up that you saw he was playing on a 3pp server , Props i wouldnt try that..

Also when did 3rd get 360 degree view? its still a limited FOV and you can turn your head in both.

 

Sure flying and driving is harder in 1st, wont deny that. But for PvP 1st only is a cotton wool wrap so you know for sure noone will peek. Much more kudos if you go up against 3pp users while using 1st  IMO.  No to mention a much higher challenge/difficulty ;)

Most entertaining to me is this bizarre idea that playing Hardcore is somehow an elite status.  Look, you can pat yourself on the back about being all Hardcore, but the fact of the matter is it isn't any more L33t than regular.  I don't enjoy Hardcore very much because I have never met a friendly player there.  Everyone is shoot on site, probably because they are jaded.  

 

In regular servers you at least run into folks who are either new enough to talk or relaxed enough to discuss things.  There is a much better mix.

Everyone is entitled to opinions and hey dont change your minds cause we dont agree with you...But by We i mean the majority of the player base Rocket and BIS they choose what difficulty levels are called what and what views etc are allowed in them..

Edit who said hardcore was more elite your only person i have heard say that phillyt personally i prefer a greater challenge...
