LaughingJack (DayZ) 767 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) Ok.You know the game is still in Alpha. You should know, cars and base building have been confirmed. You should know, that there are other issues to deal with first (Loot & Zombie respwaning. Server performance. Physics. Server-client optimization etc.etc.etc.)You should know, that the Devs are not holding back things because they are ready to be implemented and the devs try to be funny and tease the players. You should know that everybody can play whatever he/she wants or he/she is interested in. If you don't like the state of the alpha of DayZ now, come back later and see if you like it. Or stay away - it's ok if you don't like it. And you still make that post? I don't get it. btw.:*know*it's (an)*start*lose*cents(I'm also not a native speaker of the english language, so i normally don't do that. But that many mistakes....) And Cars was an awful movie from (and for) Pixar. Edit: More questions? Look at my signature. Read it. Think about it. res 373 Posted February 10, 2014 I agree. Alpha or not. I'm really getting bored. I'm fully geared in both Hardcore and Regular. Damn, Mr. Rocket, I need something that keeps me playing. That even made me buy Arma 3 yesterday (Yeah, good for you Bohemia). 125 hours played. We'll have to wait for cars and base building, but c'mon, at least let build a little camp with some tents. That way I would get my group out of Rust's boring world and play DayZ for some more hours.
faramon 66 Posted February 10, 2014 I don't understand ... we have had patches almost weekly with new stuff in and you are demanding end game stuff .. oh sure the Dev's can just stop and work on something not really needed rather than important things. My advice is that you stop playing for 2 months and come back when enough new stuff is added to satisfy you.

LaughingJack (DayZ) 767 Posted February 10, 2014 I forgot the most important thing... It's an Alpha. And by stating this, I don't want to make excuses for missing content or bugs, it is something a lot of people seem to not understand:You did not buy a finished game, that you can "play"."Alpha" means you bought a raw skeleton of a game, because you want to provide input, find and report bugs and make suggestions, so that the beta and the finished product are better.By buying an alpha you quasi say: "I find the idea so brilliant, that I already pay for the game, just because I want to help the developers by testing it and make suggestions how I think it can be made better. I know maybe I can't play it for some weeks or months, but that's ok, I just want to help." And that's why, a long time ago, Alphas were only available for internal reviews and a very small group and only the beta became available for a bigger audience - because people fail to understand that. Even if they have to click "I understand" EVERY TIME THEY START THE ALPHA. That DayZ actually makes fun and gives you some solid hours of playing is...well...a bonus in an alpha.

Of course you are going to have nothing to do or feel bored. 125 hours in most games would mean like 10 full playthroughs of said game. Come back after a few major patches. It is going to take at up to a year till we get a more fleshed out 'end game' if not longer.
soulfirez 901 Posted February 10, 2014 i wish i had a penny for every "i know its alpha, but <complains about alpha state>" thread. You would be a rich man i am betting by the time the game has come out of alpha...... Um what to say other than its alpha?? cars and base building will come when the devs have made them stable completed them (hopefully they wont feel pressure to rush them in ..... More time spent on them will HOPEFULLY result in them as being an interesting and game enhancing ( if there done in a way that requires lots of steps to do cool add ons like welding armour wheel weapons/blades i dont know sure they have better ideas.. Rush them in and what we get a quick way to just move about the map and store extra loot i am hoping for alot more from these features so i am willing to wait...

blacklabel79 949 Posted February 10, 2014 Holy crap man, take a break. 125 hours is ridiculous. Especially this early in a games development cycle. Welp...i got 220h since dec.23rd. My friends all got equal amouths of playingtime and iam sure there is Folks with alot more. 125 hours in most games would mean like 10 full playthroughs of said game. NEIN ! Online Multiplayer Masterrace ! ( well besides the telltale games but eh...they only last like what 2-3h ? )
strangelyquiet 67 Posted February 10, 2014 I'm sure the Devs would ultimately like as many people as possible playing their game. It will after all be a product to be sold, so it seems they wouldn't want to drive away players / potential players. But.... there's an awful lot of people, when they read the thousandth "some people starting to loose [sic] interest", think "Good". And go on to think "I hope you tire of it because your attention span is so poor, your commitment to supporting an alpha through it's development stages until full release is so lacking, your impatient 'never happy with anything' attitude is so tied to sucking the life out of other people's patient tolerance of you and your complaints". It makes some people want to say "Good, good, good, I hope by the time this game is fully realised you and all of the KoS, ghosting, combat logging, CoD minded, whiny, moany, immature, barely literate dipsticks have been purged from the game. Forever." I wouldn't say anything like that myself of course, perish the thought. But some might.
