So my friends and I (a group of 6+ usually) play on this server quite frequently.  The admin at the time (TG ! TRITON), who I personally never had any issues with, shot myself and a friend of mine, he died as well.  Long story short, we both made it back to the town and he killed me again... Made it back to the town AGAIN, and found him because he was shooting at a friend of mine.  Shot him and killed him after he went on to kill two more people, he got me as well.  Next respawn "BANNED".

 

I am raging because I have put time into this server and now can't play on the most active hive server, with my friends nonetheless...

Are you 100% sure it was the Admin and do you have any evidence?

Thats the point...  This server has been clean for as long as I've been playing it.  I don't know why else I would be banned, and if it wasn't Triton that was killing me back and forth, why was I banned by him?

 

All I want is an explanation for it, if he can provide one.  It's frustrating.  I'll try e-mailing him, already tried e-mailing Jimmy (can't take any more e-mails)

Walk through buildings?  That is about as obscure as claiming a UFO sighting.  I'd appreciate logs and or video of your accusations or anything with hard evidence.  I've been on the same dayz key since the game came out, and it sounds more to me like anger/abuse.  You killed me a few times to if I recall, and ran into the exact room I was hiding in after you shot my friend.  Are there special admin abilities that allows you to see me hiding in a room?

 

I would really love to keep playing on your server, and I'm sorry if you feel I was "scripting".  As mentioned before, it is the only server I play on (with friends especially), but surely you don't just ban people because they walk towards gunfire and respond to being shot at with return fire?  Just because you get shot in elektro (more than once) doesn't mean somebody is hacking.

 

Again, can I please have some hard evidence of the accusations against me?  I really want to get back to playing with my friends.

I havnt played on your server in a while, but its damm nice to know your still in there. Its a fantastic server, do you ever plan on migrating to standalone anytime soon?

The owner of the TG domain underwent a spam attack, I believe that mailbox is currently full.  In any case, you have my attention.  I check these forums (almost) daily to see if everything's going well.

I'll double check with Triton and resolve this.

Hi, Lee.  Haven't see you in a bit--but we're still doing the same stuff.  Happy to see you're around.  We may end up running an SA server in the future, but for now it's not time for us to go that route.

 

 

 

@wings516 I know what it's like to be banned from game servers when you are not at fault, and if this is truly the case, please accept my apology.  I will tell you that in the times I have been running servers over the years, the cases in which a player is truthful and respectful are the ones that are most easily resolved.  I understand your frustration, but I have to tell you, Mate, that I don't care much for posts that directly accuse the server and it's admin staff of being hostile and abusing their admin rights.  I also dislike your first post that directly takes a personal shot at one of my admin staff and accuses us of "allowing children to run a server".  I think this is bad taste, and not only does it cause more bickering on forums (which is needless) it slows down any proceedings on the issue. 

 

Please, in the future, if you're going to post a ban appeal--simply post a ban appeal.  There's no need to point the finger.  If you'd like to simply lodge a complain, that is also fine--but this post seems more like you're grieving about the server than doing either of the two aforementioned.

 

As I said, I'll personally look into this--and you can feel free to send me a PM if you'd like to discuss this like men.  I have no problem admitting when we've made a mistake (and you can feel free to verify this by checking with the players we've unbanned--or simply by our server's track record via these forums), but I will not tolerate needless flame wars.

Jimmy, thanks for responding.  Please note foremost that this was the last method of communication I tried.  I tried to keep it private and reaching a TG member via teamspeak (which judging by your signature you have Vent now?), your website forums, and private messaging through this forum (could not find triton due to un-uniform trend with the name).  You will notice I created this name solely to appeal this problem, and again sorry for not posting in the correct location; It was not my intention to start a public flame war (noted about the ban appeals section, lack of research on my part).

 

Also, forgive my hostility and anger towards the actions against me.  It is easy to forget words typed online do not necessarily "go away" and also reach a wide audience, but I did express my frustration accordingly based on the method that it was handled, albeit in a childish manner as well.

 

I would like to come around and mention that the only reason I put effort into spending the time to come on here and rant about my experience, is that I LOVE playing on your server, which is arguably the most active and well taken care of server.  And, if it is any consolation to the dedication to my statement, I would really like to donate some money to help keep this server running.

Thanks for clearing the air.  I appreciate the effort taken, and as I said, I understand how frustrating things can be from that point of view.  We've all been there.  In any case, I'm glad we were able to resolve this with a level of maturity--I personally hold my admin staff and our server to a very high standard, and I tend to let those high standards reach into the forums as well.  If there's a mature or professional way to handle things, I much prefer to do just that.  

 

Thanks for playing with us, we don't take donations for the server.  We have a group pay set up, but I don't publicly post information for it--I'm not keen on doing that.  I believe the information may be in the MOTD of the Ventrilo server, but I'd have to double check that.  I don't want 3480 to come across as a pay-to-play type server, although I do appreciate the offer.

 

I'll clear my forums inbox, it's probably overloaded with unban requests  :P

I'd suggest OP changes the title of this thread.  "US 3480 Admin Abuse / Becoming Hostile" is pretty damning and I doubt many people will open up the thread and read through to see how it was resolved.

We would certainly appreciate it, if OP were to do this.  I understand frustration, but I think the title doesn't suit the way this was resolved.  Hopefully some folks are willing to do more than scan the title and assume it's true.
