The Blaze rifle or the SKS rifle?

Wich one is better? Wich one is more usable and handy to use in urban combat situations in forests, towns, etc.

SKS i think. just because you can load more ammo and there will be less reloading in the middle of a fight

Urban areas/towns?

 

SKS by far. One shot kill plus a relatively fast fire rate.

 

For forests/wilderness?

 

Its a toss up. The B95 is very accurate. and is much sexier in my opinion.

I'll take the Blaser (IRL it's Blaser, not Blaze ;) ) just because western-feeling.

 

If you have a western-hat, go with M95.

 

Of course the SKS is more effective. Semi-auto and really accurate.

Good in CQC and far better in medium-range.

 

But i prefer the Blaser, because (for me) it looks better, sounds better, reloads cooler and isn't weak @ all.

I don't know why they added the Blazer tbh. Short range - midrange SKS is better, mid-long range Mosin is better. (in game)

I'd take SKS any day the way they are right now although you won't be able to make the 700 meter shots with the SKS as you can with the M4.

I used the Blaze rifle in a airfield shootout yesterday, me and 2 friends where getting shot at, we had no intention of killing them OR even making contact with them, they opened fire, they were trapped inside the right hangar on Balota airfield, my 2 buddies were at the baracks, keeping them suppressed, at that time, i had the Blaze rifle. I flanked them, took cover behind a tree and opened fire, hit a guy on the axe, still killed him, and the other one in the head, it's a 1-shot kill rifle, and it's really cool but after trying both weapons i'd rather use the SKS, it feels more safe and quicker to use then the Blaze, i had to reload so many times with the Blaze, but still, beast of a weapon.

Loot diversity? I don't think it is the idea for this game to have everyone have his weapon of choice 1 hour into the game.

 

How to manage this? Diversify weapons. Found a M4? Lucky you! Do you find 5.56mm yet. Nope. But lots of 7.62mm. Searching a bit more, finding a Blaser. Dropping the M4 for a gun with actual ammo? Yeah, wanted the SKS anyways, the Blaser is a good thing till I find one.

Hey there is a Mosin... it has a bigger ammo capacity then my trusty Blaser? Okay, fine, lets change it out.

Strolling around, find nothing for hours but a few bullets for my wanted SKS. And then, there it is, a SKS, beautiful! Dropping the Mosin, running to the SKS... BLAM! Shot to the head, dead before reaching it.

 

And now you add some other weapons and ammunition of different variety in the story above and there you have it... "long-term motivation". Pretty much the same thing Diablo or World of Warcraft offers, but wrapped in a totally different game.

 

I think that is the idea behind different weapons like the "weak" (in comparison) Blaser B95.

 

BTW: It looks really sweet and will be a cool gun when animals will be implemented and you can use it for its intended use: Hunting.

I love the Blazer.  Looks cool, and mid range it is superior.  I killed a player who had the drop on me and managed to miss with all of his shots but one at 75m.  The Blazer hits exactly where you point it every time and does Mosin damage.

I love the idea of many different weapons, I just would not want over abundance of calibers.

I mean if there is like 10 different calibers in game, it might get messy. You might find some ammo and never a gun for it.

 

Maybe these calibers could be enough?

 

pistols: 9mm, .45, .357

rifles: 5,56x45 NATO, 5,45x39 WP,  7,62 (x39, x51, x54), shotgun ammo, .22LR

 

Just my thoughts, hopefully not terribly offtopic.

I would like to see a super high caliber pistol and rifle round as well.  Maybe a winmag or similar round, and perhaps a .500 or .44 magnum.
