It's dynamic. Seems to be happening alot lately though.
I think rain was disabled for a while for performance reasons and was re-enabled last patch

I dont understand why would they bring back the rain when they are still trying to optimize and increase fps so that people can actually play ....We dont need no acid rain. We need gunz

Did the rain really drop the performance for some people? I've never seen performance drop when there was rain.

Zero performance drop for me. I love the rain. Would be fun if you had a very small chance to get struck by lightning when having a primary firearm on you and you're in the open.

No performance drop for me.
The rain doesn't seem to make my clothes wet and doesn't seem to have any adverse effects at all yet.
Being indoors doesn't stop the rain either. Must be leaky roofs everywhere,

It seems to be client-side at the moment, because I've been in situations where it starts raining on me, but the people I'm with don't report any rain

I'm sure that I didn't see any rain inside a house in DayZ. Is the old Arma 2 rain back or what? Or do you talk about the sound?

XD I see people around me really hate rain...i fking love it....back in mod i couldnt wait till it was raining!!!  I really hope there will be more rain than sun in SA, probably will not but id wish for it.

Anyway....we will see how it affects preformance and fps....due to this fps issue with "memory leak" im unable to say if it really kills my fps.

But for those 5 minutes before whole hell brakes loose i have the same fps as i have on sunny day.

+note...it does not visually rain inside houses as i saw it, but it definitely sounds like it does.

No performance drop for me, but weirdly, my buddy and I were ten feet apart and for me the sky was ominous and overcast and pouring rain while for him it was sunny and dry.
