Bean cans armor

Recommended Posts

From patch notes:

Systems: Damage was being equally applied to all objects inside inventory slot when shot/damaged (now items reduce the damage when they take damage)

I'm guessing that those yellow boxes etc. will be very vualable now.

I will not be surprised when I find 5-6 at people that I kill.

I can already smell possible exploits. For exemple:

Find durable item (like motorbike helmet maybe?) and put it into your pants, jacket and backpack, voila, free bullet proof improvised jacket.

Can't wait for servers up to test possible exploits.

Personally I think the Helmet should protect from headshots a bit better.

Some helmets will stop bullets. Some will but some won't.  a Pristine one should give you protection fro a shot or two at the most.

Perhaps I'm missing something but I read that as having nothing to do with damage dealt to the character, just the items in your inventory.

So if I get shot, instead of my entire backpack being ruined along with all of its contents (full bullet damage applied to everything) each damaged item will 'absorb' some of the inventory damage, so I might not lose everything all at once. Assuming I survive.

Disagreed,

In real life, a military helmet is made to protect you from handgun fire and shrapnel. A straight shot into the head by any large rifle will probably penetrate and kill you. Of course if the object just grazes the helmet, it might ricochet. But still, by the sheer impact of the object, you could still find yourself knocked out injured by a concussion.

I thought about this when he first mentioned giving items a health bar. Realisticaly I dont see why putting lets say a ballestic helmet in your jacket wouldnt protect you more. It s quite possible, your just going to be giving up alot of space, now what they have to do is separate item slots so it doesnt become exploitable. By this I mean lets say a jean pants has 4 slots, you can jam a helmet in there. To stop this jus split the 4 into 2 groups of 2 blocks.

Wow, that would really make the containers even more valuable than they are now. Now they just extend your carrying capacity because they take up 4 spaces and hold 6.

with .45 ACP you can almost shoot through kevlar helmets, so i won't say e.g. bike helmet will stop bullets to your head very well

All this people honestly believe items will give you protection to bullets??? :')

That change log line is describing the damage on ITEMS only. So if you get shot in the legs not all the ITEMS inside your pants get the same destructive value but rather the rate of damage decreases when it has already destroyed/damaged an item in the same container. It's not about the item taking BULLET damage away...

Beans for dricht1 for getting it.

Just got shot from mosin in the legs from 5 meters, my beige cargo pants and can of tuna (that was in pants) got ruined but I was not even bleeding or lose my heatlhy status, just slight color reduction that restored in less then 1 minute.

Could be becouse mosin was nerfed to hell tho hue.

It says reduction of damage to items, not player...

That's why we're alpha-ing the game, genius. to kind of find them and report them?

Yeah that is true, and I've taken more bullets without even having to bandage - it's based on the item/quality of where you get hit I believe so that's nothing weird.

God I hope to kill someone in-game who spent precious inventory slots on useless pristine stuff like Motobike helmets. I think the line in changelog was understandable enough. You can clearly read it's about item damage but not everyone on the forums understands english on the same level I guess. And stacking yellow boxes is in any case never a bad idea (although it seems to cause some lag sometimes on my end, but not 100% that's the cause in these cases).

I think there should be a smaller chance to die from a headshot when wearing a helmet
