7.62x51?

anybody wonder why the mosin ammo I listed as 7.62x51 and not 7.62x54R?

My SKS uses 7.62x39 or something like that.

 

I'm going to take it over to Berezino tonight after the gym and bother some people :)

 Mosin ammo (IRL) is 7.62x54R.  It was improperly named until this point.  The x54R variant of 7.62 is a much older cartridge.

 

.308win/7.62NATO        = 7.62x51

7.62 (AK-47)                 = 7.62x39

7.62 (Dragunov/Mosin) = 7.62x54R

Yeah, Mosin uses 54R, not NATO.  It's been like that for a while and some of the gun enthusiasts (rightly) bitched about it and it probably now just got changed.  51 will probably come back in later on, was probably just a mixup with the models and wasn't fixed till now.
