DURRHUNTER 597 Posted February 6, 2014 These would be guns that are based on military counterparts. They would be based off current military guns in the game but chambered in 22LR.
discipled 63 Posted February 6, 2014 I think .22lr should be in the game so when you shoot a rabbit you don't blow it to pieces, but it's fairly weak vs. armor players though. A headshot to a zombie though should do the trick, unless they have an armored helmet on.
DURRHUNTER 597 Posted February 6, 2014 over 2 million .22LR rounds are made every day, and the estimated annual production is 2.5 billion rounds. It is by far the most popular and common caliber in the world and with a good placed shot can take down most anything.
crimsonbzd 247 Posted February 6, 2014 See, the cool thing is, I get to do this here: A-a-A-a-l-l-l-p-h-A-A-A-AAAAAAA!!! It's an alpha alpha, it's an alpha alpha, they don't have to get anything right it's an alpha alpha, alpha alpha. No really, they can sort this stuff later. At which time I'll be replying in some sing-songy way to the whiners about "why isn't ammo more generalized!?" when you need a 7.62x54R and you only have a bunch of 7.62x31 and 8mm and 7.62x blahblah and all this other extremely similar ammo that simply won't fit into your gun. "tactical rimfire" hahahaI would suggest actual simple and easy to use .22 rifles. Something like 10/22 but a local version. kingrex 85 Posted February 6, 2014 I don't like the idea of weapons like the one above, I would rather see some more basic .22 lr guns added then allow customization. Such as finding a butler creek folding stock and mounting rails.

Valadain 270 Posted February 7, 2014 It doesn't fit well geographically, but an AR-7 would be a very interesting .22 lr gun to add. You can break it down and store it in it's own stock, so it would be something you could carry around in a fairly compact inventory space, at the cost of having to assemble the rifle prior to use. Aside from that, I don't know why a straight-up Marlin wouldn't suffice for pretty much all your .22 long-rifle needs. You can pretty much get any kind of magazine you want for it, wood or composite stocks, scopes, what-have-you. One rather interesting thing they could do with the introduction of a .22 is allow craftable supressors made of car oil filters.

SFRGaming 718 Posted February 7, 2014 The only .22 caliber weapons the military uses (in fact it might not be used anymore) is a basic single-shot .22 rifle that weighs about 10 pounds. From what I know, it was used to help promote accuracy in the young cadets.
