Massed cowardice - 4 Disconnectors (Pics Inside)

So I'm looting Berezino, coming in from the Northwest side and avoiding zombies as best I can. As I hit the far western wall of the Lumber Mill, I come under sustained Winchester fire which I evade and circle around the mill to avoid.

Assuming that the fire came from an elevated position, I make my way to the office building in order to rule out the highest spot I can see in the immediate area and then widen my search.It's then that I hear a bus doors opening and shutting and see a group of 5 players gathered around said bus in what would appear to be attempts to repair it.

Having been recently fired upon in that area - I decide that its indescriminate popping time and unleash 10-15 Lee Enfield shots into the gathered crew and the bus itself as it attempts to take off (first at the wheels and then the areas where I think I can see passengers).

This causes the bus to explode and I can see passengers frantically bailing in all directions. Instead of taking their fate like men, however, they all start rapidly connecting and disconnecting from the game in an attempt to cheat death. Each time their bodies appear again I shoot them, but overall I am only credited with one kill from the assault.

This leaves me a thoroughly unsatisfied bandit. I understand that people don't want to die after their hard work, but it's no easy feat to take on 5 players on your own - I'd expect them to at least man up and accept it in cases such as this.

Killed 3 server hoppers today in the NWAF, all 3 bodies disappeared before i could loot them, guess that's a side effect of that.

DCers and Server Hoppers should always spawn with 3 zeds on them.

Well, I have to deduct points because it was NwO, so there wasn't as much danger as you're portraying.

However, you did start with an Enfield, which is ballsy, and I'm sure you actually looted them.

So I tip my hat. That was some nice planning, even if it was Duck Hunt.

I was packing an M4 SD at the time but I figured that my enfield was the only weapon that made sense for this kind of encounter - I was relying on one hit kills to give me an edge.

I appreciate that maybe they weren't a threat to me once the dust had settled and I could see what they were armed with - at the time of engaging, however, I had absolutely no idea what any of them were carrying.

I've never really played on this server bar this one encounter, an encounter which has sealed my opinion that its a total scrub server.

Furthermore, I didn't make this thread to 'post my skills' - I made it to show the mass disconnecting, as the title and contents of the OP would suggest.

This is PhoenixTheSage from NwO and OP I gotta say that you are totally right. It was cowardice and I don't approve of this behavior in the least. While I'm not a officer I'm not in a position to speak for the whole clan, but I can tell you we don't condone what they did. Unfortunately we have grown more than anyone anticipated (400 members) and there are a lot of people that we can't hold accountable for on their behavior just yet (this is all assuming these were indeed NwO members).

We have a core group that play regularly and we hold to high standards as a survivor group but there will always be those that join in and abuse our tags so try not to judge to harshly. Again, this is IF they are NwO.

With that said, we are not responsible for how people outside of our clan play on our server so I find it funny how some of you come to the conclusion that this reflects on us this...I see one NwO tag. Seems the guy was hanging with randoms.

When you're hit (or even shot at, I think) you go into shock. I'm thinking there's a good trigger for disconnect penalties; if you disconnect while in shock, you should have some terrible penalty upon connecting to a server (or perhaps even just instantly die for trying to disconnect while shocked).

It's all good if you have the upper hand of seeing someone first and disconnecting to avoid the encounter. If you get shot tho, and try to disconnect to cheat death... well then, screw you.

I agree with the general sentiment here of making the player hit abort and then telling him he'll be ejected in x amount of time - I'm curious as to whether alt + f4 would still work in this instance.

it should be a serverside calculation, or at least a central server calc. that way if the client disconnects, the character is still technically in game and is forced to wait that 60 seconds even if no one is controlling it

Hello OP, Thank you for posting this, It opened my eyes so that I could see what the members of my clan are doing. I will address consequences on selected members who do this kind of thing. There is no need to try to ruin the rep of a clan because of 4-5 members.

PS I am the leader and owner of the server and clan.

I'm guessing nobody noticed, but only one of those guys had NwO tags. None of the other guys were with NwO. Doctor Fox is the only guy with tags and you got the kill on him. I'm not sure why you're complaining about the NwO. NwO hosts the server, but we get a lot of non-member players on it. Just remember, no tags = not a member. Nice shooting though. You just gave a great lesson on why the bus is a deathtrap.
