    Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

    Stick your head in the sand much? People who play on third-person servers separate from those on FP only servers are still playing on hugely unequal and exploitable ground. It's bad gameplay and people here have the right to discuss ways to improve it. No one is saying take away the choice to have thirdperson, the OP offers a solution. Put simply: Get out.

    Removing the crosshair won't do anything people can still learn to shoot without it, and like the old days of Counter-Strike noobiness with AWP's, people will simply tape crosshairs onto their monitors. The solution presented in the OP is a very good one, but could be implemented a little cleaner and with some shader effects to smooth out units transitioning into view.
  3. Fairly certain Rocket mention they wanted to re-do the scroll action system to a more direct "Use" system (F key?) that is more accurate. That would probably need to happen before opening cabinets and stuff because it would be clunky otherwise. There also needs to be more work on movement. Still too arcadey, movement by default should be to walk (and not toggle-able) so that you have to shift to run. That might help with KoS as well.

    People seem to forget that the mod (and all it's additional maps) use basic arma 2 assets and sometimes a few cheaply modded in assets. They are going through that phase of development right now that is all about asset and engine architecture. The map while important, isn't necessarily a primary focus. If you don't have proper assets to make the original game/map feel sweepingly different (which is what you want), then how are you going to make new maps that look and feel the part? I'd rather they focus their development on assets and features then making a brand new map. Trust me, making new maps in Arma is no where close to as easy as in other games.

    Looking at the changelog, I'm going "Ok, cool changes" but then I see they are locking down database deployables to only approved items...no no no no no no no no. Don't you dare start closing off the database! It's hard enough as a server admin to add fun new things. I don't want another roadblock in my way. Whatever they think it's gonna help, it's not. Especially not with hacking.

    Tanks Traps/Barbed Wire/Tents and basically any world placed object will fall through the ground at Object A2 (not All) because Object A2 isn't made up of terrain. What you see as the ground and the bunker is really an elaborate web of objects that form the area. When you place an object it will conform to the XY coordinates of the worldspace, ignoring the Z. So while you see it "falling" or "disappearing" it really is placing it on the ground underneath A2. Same goes for the bridge.
  8. God I'm about as annoyed as Madnessx9. This bug killed my 40+ player server (Parabellum Gaming) in no time, especially when I was trying to fix it. I reloaded the scripts file in an attempt to help people getting kicked, and it ended up kicking EVERYONE on the server for #45. Looks like these guys don't know how to test a patch before they release it, because this was an obvious one. I've deleted that line now as well.

    ARMA 2 SMK Animations

    I've gotten this to work with DayZ on my private hive. Along with some other mods. It really changes combat up, makes it more dynamic. Fighting zombies is both harder and easier, as now it takes some skill mastery to be good at the movements.

    Yeah, if you compare now to a month or two ago...the server community is dying. Public servers are pointless right now...there are so many advantages to having private hives right now it's stupid. The only con is no persistance across multiple servers. But even that is a possible pro in of itself, as it kills server hopping. Right now, Admin oversight > Battle-eye. I've been playing for 2 days without a hacker incident on one private server and thanks to their protection, I've seen a dozen hackers banned while I was playing.

    Hi there, This is PhoenixTheSage from NwO and OP I gotta say that you are totally right. It was cowardice and I don't approve of this behavior in the least. While I'm not a officer I'm not in a position to speak for the whole clan, but I can tell you we don't condone what they did. Unfortunately we have grown more than anyone anticipated (400 members) and there are a lot of people that we can't hold accountable for on their behavior just yet (this is all assuming these were indeed NwO members). We have a core group that play regularly and we hold to high standards as a survivor group but there will always be those that join in and abuse our tags so try not to judge to harshly. Again, this is IF they are NwO. With that said, we are not responsible for how people outside of our clan play on our server so I find it funny how some of you come to the conclusion that this reflects on us this...I see one NwO tag. Seems the guy was hanging with randoms.

    The only way this would be viable is if the Zombie element of the game had a large increase in difficulty (as well as giving other players a motivation to attack said emplacements). I'm all for the idea and I was/am gearing up to make a suggestion similar but it'll have to be a very fleshed out idea for Rocket to consider it I think, but it's a great outline. I totally agree this needs to be expanded on.

    Yeah, I've got to say...I'm done playing the mod till this is fixed. I'm part of NWO and the amount of cheaters entering games and initiating a kill-all command plus other shit is insane and happening extremely often. It's literally killing our clans ability to play on our server. I'm not going to invest many hours into a persistent character only to have it all go to waste (more so than the fact it's a video game) because some fucking douche bag thinks that shit is fun.

    You do realize a LOT of people's questions on here get answered directly from rocket himself. The generic sell of "you get the chance" doesn't work when every post on the forum is a chance. This isn't EA/DICE you know. Thank god. I still appreciate what you're doing and I'll definitely give it a listen just...if you want people to get involved, try a different approach.
