Is The Green Shotgun Ammo Ever Going To Come Back In You Guys Think? (ShotGun And Other Ammo Types Discussion)

Recommended Posts

Why should they be more common?

Because they're not as dangerous and lethal as slugs.

I mean:

Why should i use rare ammo and knock the enemy out, when i can just kill him with a "common" ammo?

The green shotgun ammo is still in the game:

Can you load and use the slugs? Because i heard rumors about bugged-slugs.

Rare does not inherently mean better.

That said, why use handcuffs, when you could just shoot someone? They are less common than bullets.

They could have some use in game, for when you don't wish to be lethal. Other dayZ mods have made good use of tranquilizer darts, tasers, and such.

But for the sake of balance, having them be more common than lethal rounds seems rather arcad-y to me, and I would personally not approve.

Not even sure i died to some dumb falling though the wall and lost allot of my green slugs. So been without for awhile. It just seems odd they take them out right when shotguns finally become available to test them with lol.

Well they CAN be lethal still though if you didn't listen in a few of the videos. They did state that at close range you can still hurt ppl with them. But for ranged attacks there much better if you don't want that accidental kill.

Certainly true. Rubber rounds have been lethal, or have left people permanently disabled. But the point of the post I replied to seemed to be that a less damaging, "non-leathal" option should be more common because it is less damaging. That is, that the more damage a round does, the more rare it should be. I merely meant that such an uncommon and specialized ammunition as rubber rounds should also be uncommon in the game, as I don't agree that rare has to mean better.

That and there is a higher chance of destroying the gear by using guns normal ammo. Im sure not everyone that KOS's wants the stuff to get ruined.

Totally! There are some great reasons for including rubber rounds. I'd just like to see them be less common than regular ammo, to reflect both their specialized nature, and the fact that they are fairly rare in *cough*reality.*cough*

I wasn't at all trying to bash their inclusion or usefulness. I just don't want them to be a common find.

Also if you youtube it just look at some of the horrible welts and injuries ppl still receive from them too. :O

Judging by the limited info in Wikipedia, something like 40% of the people hit with them required some sort of medical treatment in a hospital.

These rubber"slugs" are a good idea, but when doing "less" dmg, they should be more common than slugs, and also maybe a bit faster.

But they are far slower... and far less common (if they were as fast or faster, they'd kill you...)

Yeah im cool with them being slower the point is to disable not to kill lol.

Hm, well.

But when the rubberslugs are more rare (and slower) what would be a "benefit"? (Maybe not as loud as "real" slugs, dunno :s)

Because why should i take an enemy out for 5-10mins with a rare ammunition, when also kill him with more cheap/common ammo?

i know, the point is to disable them for a certain time.

But to be very honest, i see nearly no situation, where i'd like to disable someone, instead of killing him ;)
